For a disaster movie I thought it was pretty good.

Late bump. Just watched this movie last night on a whim expecting and knowing nothing about it, and I was pleasantly surprised. There were one or two cliche moments they could have cut, and 95% of the movie feels right on point.
I'm glad they decided to stick to the destruction from the main character's POV, and using news footage to show glimpses of the widespread effects was smart. None of the characters acted stupid either which I really appreciated.
All in all, I'd rate it 8/10. Very enjoyable disaster movie, and certainly one of the better ones from recent years.

I really, really liked this one. watched it a couple months ago, and then watched it again with the wife yesterday. She really liked it too. It just feels like a pretty good rendition of how shite could/would actually go down if something like this were to happen.
Spoilers...
The only thing that really pissed me off was in the kidnapping scene when the kid didn't get out of the car and run. I mean, he's like 7 or 8, which is plenty old enough to know better, and he just saw some a-hole pull his mom out of the car. Thankfully, he redeems himself a little when he tells the soldiers those people aren't his parents, but still...seems like that whole situation could've been avoided.
My wife damn near had a stroke when that scene happened though.

Lol yeah the kid freezing up, the moments with the dad on the ranch, and the "why doesn't your life flash before your eyes while you're alive" were the only parts I didn't like. I was very relieved the kid actually told the MP they weren't his parents

Greenland was either really good or just seemed good in comparison to the dumpster fire that was Geostorm. I can’t decide which it is

I had to pause it towards the end of that scene to run to the shitter and my wife damned near lost her mind.

I wanted to catch this in theaters, but at the time everyone still had a case of the Extinction Level Events, so I'll give this a shot at home.
