Irons and Williams immediately come to mind.

Greatest voice actor performance &

Greatest celebrity voice over.

There's a massive difference between the two.

That said. Many of the ones listed aren’t true voice actors just normal actors who take the odd VA role.

Spawn in the 90s cartoon show
Goliath in the Gargoyles show(my personal favorite roll of his)
The villain guy in Princess and the Frog.

Good call.
Isn't he also the President on Rick And Morty.

Mel Blanc who is next level.

This thread should be "Greatest Not Named Mel Blanc," because everyone is playing for second place.

Disney pairing Robin Williams with the Genie character is completely perfect, and may be the best voice casting decision ever. Everything about Genie fit RW to a tee.

Lots of good ones mentioned, but if I have to pick a "best" I'll go James Earl Jones. Not only his the Vader voice iconic, but it was truly menacing and literally made the character what it was. And it's still just as menacing and intimidating today as it was 40 years ago.

Seth MacFarlane at least deserves a mention.

And so does Patrick Warburton if we're including actors that just use their own voice.

Also had to be the easiest writing job ever. Give him a basic outline and just let him do his thing.

Live action motion capture doesn’t count. I think Andy should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Two Towers.

The problem with Robin Williams' Genie is that it's not timeless.

In a hundred years, a lot of the nuance of his performance is going to be lost due to contemporary references. You know some of those Looney Tunes where they'd look in at a restaurant in Hollywood that has the swanky clientele, and then have caricatures of lots of famous actors from the day? I'd imagine the only folks most would recognize today are Groucho Marx, and *maybe* Clark Gable. The rest are lost to time, because they're no longer a thing.

It's debatable as to whether or not audiences in a hundred years know who Jack Nicholson is, much less William F. Buckley Jr.

To be sure, his performance is absolutely brilliant, particularly when most of it was all ad libbed, but the very thing that makes it amazing is also what will make Aladdin one of the most dated Disney animated features of all time.

One of my favorites is H. Jon Benjamin as Sterling Archer.

There's Mel Blanc and then everyone else. His Warner Bros. characters were just a part of his career. He carried a heavy load for the Hanna Barbera roster as well, plus his radio and TV work with Jack Benny and others.

James Earl Jones was great as Vader, but that didn't require him to produce a voice unique to the character. That was just James Earl Jones giving another great performance.

Can’t believe it’s page 2 and Jim Cummings hasn’t been mentioned. Gotta be 2nd of all time after Blanc of course.

Came here to post this. It's one of the best character/voice matches ever.

Uh. You sure?

Some jokes may be pop culture references, but that doesn't change the performance and how memorable it is at all. That movie is almost 30 years old now and we still talk about it with reverence.

I'm sorry, but can you name anything from the 1920s in terms of cinema and voice acting? What a standard you set.
