Oops I just remembered 101 Dalmatians after the nomination round too dang it.

Yea that didnt get any votes. Classic Disney overall didnt do that well. 101, Bambi, Dumbo, The Great Mouse Detective, and the worst offense = The Rescuers Down Under.

Overall I think the bracket turned out alright. Everybody is going to get pissed about a few seedings, which is fine.

What was I supposed to have learned?

That the 5 best choices could all wind up in the same bracket, and that individual movies don't go up against the field, just one other movie at a time.

The NCAA tourney works because the teams play the games. Winning depends on their own individual performance. This would be like if that tourney was determined by fan vote.

Honestly I'm amazed All Dogs Go to Heaven isn't in. With New Orleans and all.

So I was supposed to have a couple months long movie regular season with 200 movies or something. Make up conferences so the seeding works out right.

This was a pretty fair and reasonable way to go about it.

After the nomination round, the top four movies for example (this isn't the exact number of votes) had 20, 18, 17, and 15 votes. So they were the top 4 seeds. After that you had movies of 13, 12, 10, 9, and 9. To determine which got the final #2 seed, I used imdb as the tie breaker. The other movie got the top #3 seed.

I get how the NCAA works, but this kind of has to be fan vote.

You know who didn't work? You. But the OP did and set up the tournament. Next time, get off your internet backside and set up one of your own.

Maybe the convo will eventually move from complaining to talking about the movies.

I'd be curious to hear how someone could like Rudolph over Inside Out. That one boggles the mind.

There isn't one Disney Princess movie that is forgotten. Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and Snow White are still huge, all came out in the 30's-40's.

Is Moana a classic like those? No, but it's a unique tale and the Polynesian story of Maui is interesting. My leas favorite princess movie was the one set in new Orleans.

I know I should be picking Akira over Tangled because it’s certainly a more important film and it is one of the most visually stunning movies ever made, but it’s just so fricking weird and didn’t really relate to the characters. Tangled I really liked all the characters, I thought it was very funny, the villain was great, and it was the best Disney Fairy Tale since Beauty and the Beast. I am a bit divided since I appreciate Akira, but I don’t like it. I like Tangled so that’s why it got the vote.

Now someone do this with The Sword in the Stone in comparison to Princess Mononoke. Oh wait you can’t, not only because they’re not even close in quality, but also almost none of you who voted for The Sword in the Stone have never seen Princess Mononoke and are lying about it in your votes.

Tangled is great and I’m not really dissing it. It’s very well done.

Akira is weird, I’ll admit it, but god it’s beautiful

I almost had a vote against weeaboo, but as much as I'm not a fan of Akira, the effort in that movie puts Tangled to bed.

Also, Monsters v Monsters made me giggle.
