1941 is actually underrated. I loved it.

I did not like it, but I do not think it's one Ritchie's 5 worst movies. I don't think people will be submitting it as evidence that Ritchie is a "Great Director."

Happy Feet, with two caveats: It's not a bad kids' film, and I have never seen Happy Feet Two.

I like the 4th Indiana Jones movie. Its the Fifth movie that I think is total garbage.

Do you know many time Coppola went bankrupt financing his own movies? He would also direct films just for a paycheck.

Eyes wide shut was a big F.U. to to the movie industry. Kubrick was the best director to ever live.

Or Prometheus.
Ridley Scott is the Nic Cage of directors. He's made some great movies and he's made some terrible movies. And he makes too many movies.

Prometheus is a great movie, but some refuse to see the light.

Prometheus was a Phantom Menace level disappointment, with some of the dumbest characters in movie history. It was a big tease that didn't give the audience what it wanted. I kinda liked Alien: Covenant, but I hated that movie.

Not a director but Ironweed is the worst movie Jack Nicholson ever made.
Horrible. It should be shown on a loop to terrorists and pedophiles.
100% awful, nothing of value.

Eyes Wide Shut can fit the topic of the thread and still be a good movie. It's just asking for a great director's worst movie. He didn't make any bad ones and a lot of people would rank EWS below the others.
Posted on 5/16/25 at 9:02 pm to AUFANATL
That wasn't the 'take' of the comment, though. The comment essentially said Kubrick should not have made EWS ("should've quit while he was ahead").

Never thought of him that way, but that is 100 % spot on.

Kubrick's pre Lolita movies were all worse than EWS
