Where does that leave Gendry? If Robert's Rebellion gave the Baratheon name legitimate claim to the Iron Throne, then Gendry's claim, even as a bastard, would supersede Cersie's supposed claim, would it not? Now if Dany overthrows Cersie claiming the Iron Throne, then would that mean Jon's claim becomes more true than Gendry's as it currently stands?

Unless Robert legitimized him, then no. He'd have to conquer it himself or be chosen outright like Jon was. I guess Jon could legitimize him if he so chose, but I don't see why he'd do that.

No, he is a bastard, Cersei claim is legit through marriage.

Bastards have no claim to anything and are completely cut out of the line of succession, unless they are legitimized. Only a king can legitimize a bastard.

This whole LF ploy is weak.
I hope this brings us closer to his death, cuz he's been in the throws for like...6 episodes now?

An annullment would have to come from a Septon, so that's at least one other person that knew....unless it came from the High Sparrow, Howland Reed (j/k)

Man, I hope Jon and Tormund aren't the only two that make it out of that battle with the wights.
Also, it looked to me like Jon was fighting another 'boss' from the NK army.

The group has a strong connection the Last Hero story, though I dont think it'll play exactly how the story went. People will die, but you can bet on Jon surviving with at least some of his comrades.

I'm unfortunately thinking only Jorah and the Hound make it out with Jon. I think we may have a swan song for old Tormund next week.

But given my record so far this season, this should come as some comfort to the Tormund lovers.

Nahh, they gotta have Tormund make more advances at the "Big Girl" first

As I said, my awful track record this season should be of comfort.

So this is pathetic but I had to rewatch the tower flashback scene and completely missed the message there. I thought that was was Stark knocking up a Targ, not the other way around.

Jon is more important than just being king of westeros.

Just finished it. Cersei telling Jaime that she's pregnant and then starts making out with him is the second worst moment in the show's history behind Barristan being killed by a bunch of teenagers saving Grey Worm. That's a jump the shark moment that the books clearly won't do if Sir Eats Alot somehow gets them out before kicking the KFC bucket. And it means one of 2 things: A) Jaime doesn't kill Cersei or B) it adds unnecessary cruelty when Jaime actually does kill Cersei. Regardless she's a ticking clock with less than 9 months to live simply due to the prophesy in having 3 kids, although I guess she could have a miscarriage. And really, Jaime and Bronn hold their breath for a half a mile? How did Tyrion get in touch with Bronn? There's also no way in hell Cersei would knowingly let Tyrion in the Red Keep and not have him brought before her and flayed him alive or some sort of sick punishment. I was just about to fling my remote into the TV thinking LF didn't immediately burn the letter Lysa sent to Cat, but at least they didn't go through with that and it's LF being clever playing Arya against Sansa. I'm also disappointed Jorah didn't immediately notice his sword with Jon, although I'm hoping they'll get around to that in the next episode. Big step down between these episodes.

Like I said. OLM is such a fanboy writer hack

I think with Bran spitting his line of chaos is a ladder basically seals his coffin this season.

No doubt. He was on to Arya spying on him, so he put the note that the Maester dug up in the most obvious hiding place in his room, under his bed. He's definitely trying to play Arya against Sansa. But I think that will be his demise.

Or maybe he was going to use that note to undermine Sansa's authority with the other lords of the north.
