So these look like Westoros soldiers joining team Dragon.

No Jamie or Bronn here though
i have this really bad feeling Jaime falling into the water was a way to have him "escape" Dany's victory
Lord, I hope i'm wrong

I don't think Dany survives the show. She will have a Jesus moment and sacrifice herself for the good of Weseteros.

Considering they kept building up the villain of this season as worse than Ramsey (that villain is Euron), we haven't seen the last of Euron's bad behavior.

cannot remember...can Bran speak through people he wargs with/through?
It would seem to me that a more efficient way for Bran to communicate with Jon is to warg into someone and talk to him directly.

I believe before the premiere it was talked about several times that the villain of S7 would make Ramsey Bolton look like a child. You have to have someone to hate so they can die and you can feel good about it. It happened when Ramsey died. It happened when Walder Frey died (best death in the show IMO). It will happen when Euron dies at the end of this season.

I like Bronn but think he should have probably checked out this week.
If George R. R. Martin had been writing it, someone important would have died.

I'm just saying, that's what the characters on the show have said in interviews leading up to the Season 7 premiere. Euron is a twisted bastard. I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to top it.

Am I the only one here that really does not like Dany? I was really cheering for Bronn to slay the dragon.

Has anyone discovered if Ed Sheeran was killed in that episode?

quote:If it was a planned attack, I think Dany would be there, with all the dragons. I think she'd be able to control them all while on site, as she did in Slaver's Bay... or do you think the other 2 would scorch the Dothraki too, while she's flying Drogon?
quote:
If he did that with Dany and her dragons around, he's dead. No answer for the air strike, nowhere to flee.
I think Dany knows that. She realizes the tactical error of not providing air cover to retrieve the Dornish forces, and the attack on Casterly Rock.
They said they had enough ships left to bring the Dothraki to the mainland, and I think she was just providing cover for the transit. While aloft, she spotted the Lannister army in the Blackwater area, and saw an opportune target. If it were a more planned attack, I'd think more dragons would be employed, for greater shock and awe.
It is painfully obvious, but the only problem would be her not being there to control the dragons. She couldn't be in three different places at once. If she had someone that could ride the dragons I think she would have gone with that strategy and it would have worked perfectly, but not having anyone else that could ride or control them probably prevented this as a legit possibility. Those dragons would go rouge without her being around.
It's a thought.
Either way, here's an answer to why the Dothraki engaged, instead of just a dragon pass:
The Horde follow her lead, but they ARE bloodthirsty, and you can't ask them not to engage an opposing force. It's just not in their nature, they wouldn't follow that. They will always take up a fight with joy, even among themselves. So once they see the Lannisters arrayed to face them, it's on.
And without the Horde present, the Lannisters do not line up. Dragon passes are impressive, but that army will just scatter. Not a damn reason to stay and ... do what, exactly? Get burned? Even Tarly, the hardass disciplinarian, will tell his troops to disperse, and rejoin somewhere later.

but Arya's abilities are in assassinating people, not swordplay. that's the problem with how the framed that scene

It was brilliant by Dany. The Dothraki get the Lannister army into battle position which concentrates the men so Drogon can do some work. Then Drogon shows up and scares the shite out of the Lannister troops. So it's like a distraction on top of a distraction. Result is that no one is ready for the attack and the Dothraki charge through a melted battle line. The only people who kept their cool were Dickon and Bronn.

quote:But what can he do? I honestly think that it may be Dany. If she just has Drogon kill the survivors that would be pretty fricked up. She could just take them as hostages.

You're asking me to predict the twist involving the villain in Game of Thrones. Think about that for a second.
Posted on 8/7/17 at 3:39 pm to SlowFlowPro
This show spent a pointless 12 months pretending Jon was dead and went far out of their way to keep that narrative alive.
They are going to make sure their previews for next episode don't include Jamie or bronn

I think Cersei is the villain this season. She's already headed down the path of Mad Queen and most of us are thinking she'll go so far down that road that Jaimie will have to kill her.
