She could fight blind, ffs.
And she wasn't blocking the long sword, she was deflecting and moving. There's a difference.

Did randyll tarly die in the battle? I thought I saw him being burned but it was hard to tell through all the flames.

They already have for this season alone...

IMO the writers have realized that everyone is already watching this show and it's time to end it. No need to go over the top to get new viewers. The budget has probably been more limited since it's ending anyway. Everyone who has made it this far is gonna watch the end. And on top of that, you caught the source material. So we are currently at point A. The ending is point B. How do we get from A to B in a cost effective manner? 7 Episode seasons where things feel rushed. I don't have any issues with this, but I have noticed the difference. GOT will be remembered as the best television show of the 2010-2019 decade forever. Nothing will even come close.

Arya is unlikely to be able to put swordfight Brienne who outweighs her by 100+ lbs. I got the same "there's dragons so it's ok."
By this token why did Oberyn have success against the Mountain?? Weight and strenght isnt everything. Brienne likely wasnt trying very hard for fear of injuring her, until she realized Arya's capability and then was successful in knocking her down. But theres smthg to be said for being small and quick when your opponent is slow and weilding a 4 ft sword that you can get inside of....
Again, yall are worrying about the smallest little things for no reason. Hope youre happy when it all ends since you dont seem to be enjoying it anyhow due to minor details

Scanned through thread and didn't see anyone mentioned Sansas reaction to learning Aryas new ability.
Maybe the show creators didn't intend it but Sansa looked pissed. But I don't know why. I got the impression she saw Arya as a threat.
I took it as Sansa i realizing that even though she has her brother and sister home its not really the family reunion she was hoping for
Bran is a tree wizard with no emotion and Arya is a skilled killer
I think her reaction to the fight was a realization that even though they're together, they'll never really be a family again.

i didn't like the second episode (and it's probably the only one I wasn't enthusiastic about), but for people who think things are moving too quickly...the war that has been set up to this point isn't going to be resolved in one battle, or a few...the climax of the story was always going to be action oriented or at least should be.
whereas before a battle or big event reshuffled the dynamics and pushed characters towards towards their starting point for the end. we're not moving towards the end, this is the end. shite is going to be crazy.

If Jaime does take the black, I really hope he stops in Winterfell on the way north...

People take any criticism as "OMG you think the show sucks and are miserable."
You can point out questions or mild problems while still enjoying the show.

Read upon the defeat of the Spainsh Armada by the British in 1588.
The showrunners/writers are flying "blind" (i.e., there's no written material to work with [unless GRRM has given them advance copies/drafts from WOW to work from, but doubtful]).
Imagine Peter Jackson trying to do Return of the King if Tolkien had died before completing it.

Yea, I wouldn't call her expression pissed off. I thought it was more of a reaction of her originally laughing off Arya's list, and then realizing in that fight that Arya really is a badass. That and a little annoyed that she's finally the lady of winterfell and her siblings dgaf.

from a story perspective everyone has made their journey to the final confrontation (the final war for the throne and the fight against the white walkers)
arya went from tom boy noble lady to dangerous assassin
bran is the 3 eyed raven
sansa is lady of winterfell
jon is king of the north and lord of winterfell
Tyrion is hand to daeny.
daeny has dragons, the unsullied, united all of the dothraki khalasars into one, a navy, political alliances and has arrived in westeros
cerseii is now the sole power in westeros. the tyrells are dead, her kids are dead, she has the throne for herself and there are no more appearances to keep, political marriages, etc.
Brienne is master at arms of winterfell and aligned with house stark
Jaime is head of the queensguard and general of the army.
there simply isn't anywhere to go except towards the final confrontation.

It sure looked like the back of his head in next week's preview.
Of course, I think he and Dickon have both bought it and Sam will have to lead House Tarly

It's interesting because a lot of the theories used to focus on Sansa losing her Stark-ness (symbolized by Lady's death in Ep 3(?)). Now that they are reuniting though, she has probably gone through the least change compared to Arya and Bran.

Yes, but the speed at which they are doing it is uncharacteristically fast for the show. The reason for that is they have caught up to the books and would rather end the show than add filler that won't fit with GRRM's story line at all.
If you've ever watched longer anime shows, you'll understand why filler is so terrible. Shows will catch up to the manga and make like 12 episodes of complete shite while the manga releases more content. Then they just go back to the manga. Fullmetal Alchemist decided to start over and just write a 2nd version of the TV show because the filler was so far off base.

Exactly. All of the pieces are in place. It's time to play the game.

That's a good question. I don't think we really know. I hope Dickon stayed alive. Dude seems like a good guy and pretty skilled as a warrior.
