Dany is so arrogant; she flies into battle with no armor and flies low as shite for archers to be in range, then turns her back on the enemy in the middle of the battlefield

This is such a tired argument.
It really is, why just because there's dragons and zombies can't there be any militaristic tactics. Jaime would most certainly have scouts out there screening his army. That's an incredibly basic thing for commanders to do. Unless they did have em out there and the Dothraki killed em before they were able to get word back to Jaime.

The show is being rushed and they would benefit from a few extra episodes this season.
i think this is the primary issue. what's the point of cutting the final 2 seasons if your'e just going to rush through both?

When that dragon dies, they will eat him

Well let's be honest, she has no military gifts. She's just got dragons.

So they can get to their shitty other show they want to make
Posted on 8/7/17 at 11:21 am to weagle99
Of course not. But if they flushed out every single detail to make the scene physically correct, it would take 30 mins. The writers have to balance what is a priority, and that is the main plot. Who cares about the scouts. You could also argue the dragons were scouting ahead, and killed their scouts. They do have like a 200-300 mile range. Point being, the main concept is not military details. It is about a women riding a dragon trying to take her hood back.

I am sorry that I want more GOT and not something that feels rushed. It seems like the show is on a shot clock
It is. Everybody is well aware now that the series is winding down and HBO only greenlighted a limited number of episodes to finish. The actors are paid on a per episode basis and the CGI is eating up their budget, so they are having to trim the fat. There are a TON of loose ends that still need to be cleaned up and covered in a very limited time frame. Yet you people still bitch about skipping travel scenes, the Lannisters sending out scouts, etc. The problem is not with the show writers. The problem is with the people that NEED to have something to bitch about. You can't just sit back and enjoy a good show.
If you want to be upset with somebody, be upset with the HBO execs for not dumping more money into the budget. But being mad with the show, the writers/directors, etc. is a complete misplacement of your frustrations.
With all that being said, there are millions of examples of other shows, books, movies etc. that skip mundane things like travel and leave it to the audience to connect the dots that time has passed. Use your imagination. Why is it so hard for some of you to just accept the reality that showing all the minute detail simply isn't possible at this point? There's nothing to argue about. That's the hand D&D were dealt and they are playing it as best they can.

I don't really know why they didn't make her some sort of armor. That's what the Targeryens traditionally wore when riding into battle.
There's Aegon looking like a badass.
Visenya for a female example.

I made that point a few pages back, that Arya is unlikely to be able to put swordfight Brienne who outweighs her by 100+ lbs. I got the same "there's dragons so it's ok."
Maybe there are reasons for all of this. Maybe the Dothraki killed the scouts and Arya has magic, but they shouldn't just be waved off as "well there's zombies so anything can happen."

Exactly. She's not a knight, since she doesn't got armor on

i mean the writers wasted a bunch of money in scenes like the Euron battle, just for an example

I don't feel as if anything has been rushed. From the macro view we're reaching the crescendo...it is only logical to see more of what we're seeing and less political maneuvering. the season individually may feel rushed but the story has been building to this point for years.
Each season had self contained stories and arcs and in that respect this one doesn't and is focused on the bigger picture. Probably as a result of being so far past the source material. once Darby was on dragonstone we knew shite would be on. There's no political maneuvering to be done.

It's because they caught up with the books.
Posted on 8/7/17 at 11:30 am to AggieDub14
There was a point where they passed the source material but things were left to where you could fill in the blanks, but now they're even beyond that
Posted on 8/7/17 at 11:30 am to DelU249
If it slowed down, half of you would be bitching about "filler eps".
Posted on 8/7/17 at 11:31 am to CorporateTiger
No one will argue things are left out, or not explained well, but we all agree a TV show is the most difficult medium to tell a story this big. The books (if ever finished) will cover the topics better. I just enjoy the HBO series for what it is. We can start a GoT book club on the book board if we want to flush out ever detail. I would be game.
