Someone refresh my memory. How do the Maesters in Oldtown know when the seasons are changing/send out the white ravens? There is no Maester in the North anymore to let them know when Winter is coming.

There are still Maesters in all the castles in the north, save for Castle Black. I see no reason why they went anywhere, save for Luwin who was murdered.

Skagos is supposed to be a crazy place. Don't they eat people there?
Yeah, but the show made the Thenns into cannibals. That was a sign that we wouldn't be seeing Skagos on the show, I suppose.

Either way, if Manderly considers Rickon to be his "lord," I doubt he's intent on putting up with the Boltons and the retaking of Winterfell won't go down anywhere near like it did on the show.

In fact, if The Vale shows up to fight the Boltons, I imagine it will be because Sansa married Harry and Sweetrobin died, making her the lady of the Vale.

Yeah that was in the books. It would be cool to see Casterly Rock in the show

He said that in the show as well.

I'm starting to worry that the High Sparrow is NOT actually HR. I'm concerned with how old the High Sparrow is in the show. He doesn't appear to fit in with Ned's generation, but closer to Pycell's generation. I could be wrong, but I thought HR was the same gen as Robert and Ned.

Could be just something that show didn't consider well, or HS!=HR in the show, but HS=HR in the books still.

The original deal might have been for Walder to capture the Starks, not kill them. Jaime could be angry about that.

I think I remember a scene in the show where Tywin is explaining to either Jaime or Tyrion that the agreement was to kill the Starks. Something along the lines of winning a war by killing one person instead of an entire army, and what's the difference if you win.

Expecting nothing but will still be disappointed if we don't get some ToJ resolution.

There is a passage in the books with Tywin discussing it but I can't recall it for the life of me :(

At least in the show, it was something like "is it better for thousands to die on the battle field or a dozen at dinner?"

I found the video, a conversation with Tyrion. Good stuff:

God I can't wait for the North to march on the South and completely destroy them.

Eta: Damnit, Dany is gonna be coming through the south. Oh well, at least we get to see some prissy Southron lords get their asses roasted.

If walder kills or tries to kill edmure and his wife/baby to end the fully threat then Jaime may very well turn his army loose on the twins. He's there, he's already pissed that he's not back at home, and we know he doesn't think much of them to begin with

What if walder turns on Jaime and his men like he turned on rob and his men

Red wedding lannister style

So LF is still technically Walder's lord, right?

Maybe his puppet strings reach further than even we imagine.

They need to. If there is nothing this episode, it will be close to a year or more when they revisit it. That is a long time, what would have been the point to having it this season.

I'm sure Bran, on his way to the wall, will touch the Godswood Tree where Jon, Sam, & other members of the NW (who believe in the old gods) were sworn into the watch.

At least that would be my best guess.

What are the chances Walder Frey caught Brienne and Pod (assuming the Twins are down river from Riverrun) and this is what pisses Jaime off?

I didn't even think of that, but I guess as good as any? Jaime doesn't necessarily look pissed and I'm not sure how he would have known Brienne&Pod were captured, though.
