That seems both possible and like a horribly stupid decision. so actually, LF is walder frey's vassal in the riverlands (should he ever decide to occupy harrenhal, which he won't)

No way all that happens for the Vale army to reach Winterfell just as Ned's bastard is storming the walls. GNC could very well be alive in the books. Especially with Manderly's recent outbursts.
Not to mention there's basically no chance Book LF trades Sansa to the Boltons, hell it was stupidly out of character for TV LF.

I'm saying he finds out after arriving at the Twins, not that he goes there because they were captured. I think he is probably invited there as thanks for returning Riverrun.

There's probably not a book reader out there that doesn't want Jaime's arc to change. Something has to serve as the catalyst. B&P could be a damn good guess.
