I thought they fleshed it out pretty perfectly

They gave me more than I was expecting. I'm waiting to find the exact transcript of what she said.

That was a really good scene and no way they could have done it as a flashback like in the books, in season one.

I don't think time was a consideration in this episode. D&D did everything they set out to do. They don't want to go into the TOJ details. They have to save something

What did they save exactly? I mean it was a full blown comfirmation with Jon. only thing they have left is for bran to tell jon.

You're acting like everything needed to be answered and fleshed out last night when we still have at least 13 more episodes.

I have no issue with the actual plot and how much they gave away. I just felt like they couldve given more time to those scenes and spaced them out more. Felt like they spent so much time on the early Cercei stuff (which was great) then middled around with some dorne and some sam and daario stuff and then some producer told them they only have 10 more minutes to fit the rest in so they shoved TOJ, KotN, frey pie, and dany sailing in there at the last minute

At the beginning of the show in the Previously On one of the scenes is Sansa saying Rhaegar raped Leanna. There are the details of them two. And we don't know all that she said. That's on purpose. But you seem to think there should have been more? What exactly did you want?

Sam's scene was very early. Dorne didn't come until after the sept...

Wait... are you complaining that there was TOO MUCH? That's a new one I thought I'd never hear. Or are you complaining that there wasn't enough? Do you know why are you complaining?

Technically we never learn who the dad is, it could be Arthur Dayne.

You know what would have made this episode better?

After Tommen jumps, Ser Pounce jumps on the window sill and starts licking his butt.

How was that a soft reveal? they show Jons face immediately after. Theres nothing left to reveal at this point. I think even a comotose Khal drogo could pick up that the baby was Jon

the only thing they have left to reveal or confirm on the show is that it was RHegars baby and thats not really something you have to come out and say

Right. They use imagery and visual tricks to let the viewer know who it is, but it still requires you to figure it out. A full reveal would've been an outright confirmation (Bran saying "Jon?" out loud, Ned telling Lyanna he will call him Jon, Lyanna naming him Jon, etc). While it is obvious what they are telling us, it's not a full reveal.

As you state, there are still questions to be answered and confirmed (Rhaegar his father, Lyanna not raped as Robert stated). They are trying to maintain a level of suspense into next season.

Sam is boring as shite but that scene was dope. We all wanted to see the citadel and they delivered

I agree with this. If you watch the scene again as soon as Sam arrives at the Citadel you see hundreds of white ravens being released which is important in an episode titled "The Winds of Winter". Also, Sam is a character that loves to read so seeing the greatest library in Westeros is a dream come true for him. It sort of reminded me of Gandalf going to the library of Minas Tirith which is a scene I also loved.

Plus they need to establish that someone still living can confirm who Jon really is (Howland Reed)

Bran is still living, and he witnessed much more than Howland ever did (or was HR in the room? I can't recall now)

If Cersei died wouldn't that make Jaime King (on the show)?

Not if a bastard can lay claim - with Robert or any of the false children, Cersei doesn't have much of a hereditary claim - certainly not one she can pass down. What claim to the Lannisters have? I would assume those with Baratheon blood would have better claims as cousins or whatever than Robert's widow.

She's queen right now because no one can stop her. Most folks will flock to Dany's banner, particularly outside of Lannister loyalists pretty quickly once she lands.

Again i never said there needed to be more, just timed differently and not so brushed over. Whether they have more to reveal or not, that was a big fricking deal and it just kind of gets lost in the shuffle

You have completely misunderstood what my issue with it was (i also stated many times that it was a great episode), I felt they spent too much on some minor plots and not enough on a few of the major plots

I just went back and looked at it, the Sam and gilly scene was 6 minutes long, while in the last 10 minutes of the show they showed TOJ, King in the north, Cercei getting crowned, and dany setting sail. Thats 4 major events in 10 minutes, my issue isnt the events themseleves, but how quickly they got thru them while also fiddling around in the library for 6 minutes

Great episode, ill say it 50 times, but it couldve had better execution. Im not the one that comes in every episode goig OMG THAT WAS THE WORST EPSIODE IVE EVER SEEN (looking at you salmon), i just have some critiques about it.

I don't think Howland was in the room but he's going to know something is up when Ned walks out with a baby and tells him his sister is dead.

I'm just thinking that when Jon needs to be officially legitimized or Dany needs to be convinced that he is her niece people will want more proof than Bran's visions.

There's a big problem that will have to be addressed next year and that's an heir... no matter who has the throne. They brushed over it a little with Marg and Tom but it has to be brought up again. Cersei will want a child again... with Jamie of course. I doubt he agrees. Dany will need a husband as well.
