Amazingly..yall are better about spoilers in here than the hodor thread.
There are a couple reasons for that.
We have a solid core group of readers who help keep the thread clean.
Most important, if you're a troll looking to have fun with Hodors where are you going to get the most bang for your buck? This thread where you will certainly get called out and any offending material will quickly get RA'd (almost never needed), or the Hodor thread where the most sensitive nonreaders reside?

So tell us what is it like to be Protector of the Realm?
The Hodors- test you like the Old Bear & The Maesters- know you have earned Sword of the Morning Status.
Yet, when you post in your own thread, everyone south of the Wall flees.

Most of you seemed to hate the beetle story, but Tyrion told it so well. I was pretty disappointed that the story didn't have an ending. Why the hell was he killing the beetles?!

I really enjoyed that scene. I think the point was that the cousin was mindlessly killing the beatles simply because he could and that in the GoT people killed/did what they want simply because they could. Or it was a dig at GRR Martin who seems to simply kill characters off because he can. Or maybe it was that humans are like the beatles and the gods just indiscriminately kill people because they can. It also gives us an idea of how Tyrion sees the world and how deep of a thinker he is.
No matter if there was a message or not it was a beautifully delivered scene with great acting.

I kind of thought it wasn't very well written and in a way it did Dinkledge a disservice. Tyrion's motivation for the story didn't really come across to me - was he just being philosophical? Was he feeling pity for his plight and the situation he was in? as he trying to bond with Jamie?
I could see Dinkledge trying his best to sell the scene but it (the scene) fell kind of flat to me. I didn't hate it nor begrudge the time it took like some seem to have done but I just thought it was a below average scene for this show.

Has there been an episode in which someone didn't die?

Yes...I think so, at least.

I don't think anyone was killed in "The Bear and the Maiden Fair". Only one coming to mind.

They were talking about how there isn't a term for cousin killing.
Then talking about a cousin who killed bugs.
Then how Tryion hated it.
Then how the kid was killed by a Mule.
Strange but I took from it Tyrion either killed the kid or was possibly accused of it a long time ago.
(not in books)

The thought that Tyrion killed him never crossed my mind, Tyrion lived his life defending the weak, crippled, and children. For him to have killed a retarded child seems out of place.

Between this scene and the love-making/rape session between Cersei and Jaime, D&D have really thrown off a lot of people this season.

I read somewhere else that the moral was "why do we kill things"
I do think that fits his MO better.
I do like Tyrion a lot.
Just weird that the segue into that story was talking about how there is no term for cousin killing.

That whole cousin conversation was weird and out of place IMO.

I agree. It was causing my mind to wander off on other things, which reminds me....
Do we have any couples that are in a happy relationship on this show??
Jamie/Cersei-I wouldn't call them a happy couple, or even a couple really
Tyrion/whore-that bridge is burned
John/whore-he betrayed her, she shot him. I'd say that bridge is burned
Cersei/Robert-never happy
Sansa/Tyrion-never happy

Cat and Ned were happy until the shite hit the fan. Surprisingly Tywin and his wife were happy, until Tyrion was born. Then the Red Viper and his Paramour... Until she died... Robb and Tal.... Yeah happy couples just tend to die in this show and in the books.

Well, she doesn't know that LF basically killed her entire family, so it probably isn't going to last forever.

Arya doesn't know, but the Hound at least has some idea that he betrayed Ned.
