The guys that captured him are low level soldiers. He is an expert at manipulating people much smarter than them. I think he knows perfectly well that between now and the journey to a port he can turn them easily.

Episode was legit, but man I do really hate every character on the show except the uncle Targ.

A lot of posters here dont have lives/jobs so they live to critique everything like its supposed to be Shakespeare or Tolkien.
And if there is one casting choice or decision they dont like they take it as a personal affront to all their beliefs.
I hate ryan condal and his decisions but that was a fun episode. I doubt he can keep it up an entire season so i can at least give credit where its due for the good episode.

The difference is the writing (and directing)
AKOTSK’s dialogue was written by GRRM. HOTD is written by screen writers. And they all suck now
I thought the directing in this first episode was God awful. The pace was stupid and the cut scenes back and forth were irritating.

Sorry if this is Germans, but I heard on a podcast today this was supposed to be the finale of season two but HBO was sold and the writers strike was happening in 2013 and they just didn’t have time to finish it and had to push it to season three.

I appreciated the action but it was just a chaotic episode. Was very predictable that Jace would FAFO. Bummer they lost a dragon but didn’t care that he died.

Naval battles were so close up I couldn’t tell which team was whipping who. Then the whole crap with seasnake and bitchfist and for what was all that about?
Then the girl huffing and puffing and moaning and griping and saying “no Sheepstealer no” over. And. Over. Got irrationally annoying. Like why did she bring an untrained dragon to a fight who destroyed like both sides?
And then there was the dark haired prince dude (sorry I’m terrible with names. GOT taught me not to care about characters since they all die ) locked his Mom in her castle? By what authority? And then he goes and gets his dragon and himself killed. Way to go kid. Your plans were stupid every single time you dumb little bastard.
I think it’s way harder to film naval battles and be able to see anything. It seems however that the red team lost bigly at that battle.
And that was just the first episode.
I swear if Carter shows up drunk and throws a bulls head off the wall at the Cattleman’s Ball, I’m done. But I think at this point the Red Queen could use a Rip right now. (Sorry Dutton Ranch bled into review. Still pissed off about both episodes I suppose).

I think you are trolling but the red team you refer to is actually the black team. Its greens vs blacks.
