I’ve not been that engrossed in this season cause it’s been a snore. But that last episode made up for it.

You heard it here first that Condal is going to change the ending of HoD (season 4) from the book. It will end up with same eventual lineage as the books to at least keep that consistent. But who lives / dies / last sits the throne to get there will be changed and it's all about DEI.

idk if Hugh was on vermithor. I would tend to say the dragon wouldn't leave him but then again they have shown 2 dragons leave their riders in this show so who knows. The flip side is I don't see Hugh just getting on Vermithor and bailing on his wife.
Given that this is not how it went down in the books at all, I am curious to see if Hugh actually turns or if they just have him go out some other way. Maybe Rhaenyra considers him a traitor for not manning his post as was commanded and gets executed or someting. Would be extremely lame compared to the books but that seems like the theme of this show. Take a really cool event from the books and make it boring and dumb.

I don't get why on the previous episode they show Hugh going to his wife and her being a giant bitch and telling him to leave then the next episode we're supposed to fell bad that she died. Why even have that previous scene? They could have simply left it out and the viewers wouldn't have in their mind that the wife didn't want to be with him anyway. Now we're supposed to be sad she died and that be a reason he is bitter? Nah.

Went back to watch the end and it looks like the clip of him finding his wife was after the scene of the dragons flying after each other. So looks like he wasn't on Vermithor.

My guess is that they use his wife dying as the catalyst for him turning. Or at the very least abandoning the Blacks.

but it was ulf that killed his wife after he had already switched sides or whatever it was that he did. At minimum he was dragoning while intoxicated LOL
