That line cracked me up. It's a nice touch seeing him paired up next to The Ruin. I would have been interested to see scenes if him gaining Roddy's respect. Roddy's a hard man, you know there had to of been at least one or two moments where Oscar had to do something to earn it.

Overall good episode, but the writing is still pretty bad.
Butcher's Ball was disappointing. So they just sacrificed those fake dead guys just to give Cole a false sense of victory even though they had them surrounded? They could have annihilated them any time. The fake dead guys died pointlessly.
They must like Cole, as a lot of fans seem to. They gave him a song-worthy death, complete with the hero carrying his lady's favor, borrowed from Braveheart. The ambush reminded me of the ambush scene in The Big Red One. Maybe that's where they got the idea
The adaptation of the text to dialog was pretty weak as well. Sons of Anarchy guy's acting was bad in that scene, and little Oscar was maybe not the best choice to deliver the damning line.
The scenes with Rhaenyra and Alicent have become tedious. I'm really tired of seeing the same shite over and over, and now Alicent is going to Harrenhall. Clearly, the show is just doing its own thing.
At least they did the throne pricking Rhaenyra moment accurately. I really did think they might blame it on her period.

Isn’t this how it went down in the book? I seem to recall something similar.
They did leave out the best quote of the scene though:

What’s the significance of the woman who shot Cole? The way they lingered on her, I’m sure it was supposed to be meaningful, but her character rang no bells for me (I’ve read source material but don’t really nerd out on it).

She’s Black Aly (Alysanne Blackwood) from the Blackwood house in the Riverlands. She plays an important part to a pardon that occurs during The Hour of the Wolf. No idea if we’ll see it or not.

It sucked to see Corlys go out like that, at night in some random forest with little fanfare. It just seemed so unfitting for a man of his stature. But we’ve seen that plenty in this world I guess.

No. She ends up with Alyn but after some things that happen quite a bit later (that I can’t imagine we’ll see on the show).

I think I would enjoy the show more if I had not read the book and know what's different and what's to come.
I find myself sitting there thinking "let's get on with it" instead of enjoying the show.

I accepted a while ago that this show has no interest in remaining faithful to the books. This show is more of a twist on GRRM's story than a retelling. Everything is some form of "Historians thought it happened like that but it ACTUALLLY happened like this!" And the "this" is a worse version of the history 95% of the time.
