It's certainly possible that they shortened it to 3 or 4 months. It's still kind of silly though.

I think that's likely what happened. It doesn't feel like it's been 6 months between Rooks Nest and taking KL. The timeline isn't very definitive in the books.

Winter is Coming (.net) explore some of this as well:

quote:

To put things into perspective timing wise, when Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) speaks with the High Septon in season 3 episode 4, he tells her that he anointed Aegon “some months ago.” In Fire & Blood, the Battle at Rook’s Rest takes place in late 129 AC, and the Fall of King’s Landing follows soon in 130 AC. It can be tough to exactly pinpoint events in the Dance of the Dragons timeline given how the book is written, but we can do the math and see that it’s been a year or less from Aegon’s coronation until now.

Of course, that’s going more so by the Fire & Blood timeline, but it seems to match up for the show as well. Not a whole lot of time has gone by from the start of season 2 to now, and so Aegon being the father would make complete sense.

Well, either way, it's Aegon's baby, I guess. There likely won't be enough time for her to bring it to term before Rhaenyra is forced to flee the city, though, so we'll see where they go with it. I doubt Rhaenyra will have it killed and presented to Helaena, though. Although, I think Helaena pointing out the deadly nightshade in the garden might have something to do with it.

Does anyone else think the actress who plays Helaena is the worst in this universe? Am I being unfair and maybe I’d feel differently if I read the book? I feel like she has a moment every episode where she takes me out of the scene.

She's not very animated in the book, nor does she have psychic dreams. She's sort of boring and sweet, which is why the people love her, but after Blood and Cheese killed her son in front of her, she became quiet and increasingly insane.

The show making her a prophet might be the result of the female writers and producer, trying to make her more interesting because she just isn't, really. I don't mind the performance because I never expected much from her to begin with.

Nah. I like her character. And she’s the only one I legitimately feel sorry for (especially the way her arc ends).

Is anyone dreading seeing the slaying of the dragons in the dragon pit? Going to be like watching dogs get killed. Ugh.

Yeah I don't look forward to that either. Especially after we've gotten to see some of the dragons to the length that we get to known their personalities.

Caraxes going down at God's Eye might do me in.

Seeing dragons die is far worse than seeing people die in HotD. There were human deaths that were a lot worse than the deaths f Dany's dragons because so many of the characters were so good in GoT. The dragon deaths have been more sad than the humans though in this one because you don't really care about the characters.

I'm starting to suspect that the leader of the gold cloak assassins is going to become the shepherd.

The slow pace of the show makes me wonder when that will even be, though. At this rate, the series finale will be the death of Rhaenyra and crowning of Aegon 2, with maybe an epilogue about him being poisoned and Aegon 3 being crowned.

I'm ready for this faux Sons of the Harpy storyline to end, but I suspect Rhaynera cracking down on it will be the catalyst for the Shepard and general open dissidence within KL.

AI got super spoilery with this episode. But, I blame myself. I did insist on a synopsis and rundown.

Here's pretty much the only part I can post.

The episode focuses heavily on the escalating fallout from the Gold Cloak murders and the extreme military and political friction mounting between Team Black and Team Green

Damn. He didn't even get to die in battle.

And damn, more girl talk and R saying I really am a good person. Yet again.

Eh, their scenes are pretty important at this point to what happens going forward. Especially with Helaena (which is a powder keg). I don’t get the gripe with tonight’s episode on that.

Poor Crispy. Black Ally took his arse right now.

Also appreciate them continuing to keep Gwane alive. He’s been a nice addition to where the story is at this point.

Him clocking that it wasn’t the Baratheon’s because OF COURSE he’d know what the lords would look like is great.

I think I may have missed something. Who was Mysaria trying to have killed?

I feel like they don't know what to do with Rhaena.
