I need to rewatch it because it was just a second, but I feel like in the preview for the coming weeks they flashed a scene of Sunfire landing in all his golden splendor. It just doesn't make any sense to me though unless they introduce some magic. He's been rotting there for at least a few months. He can't just come back to life without some kind of magic.

Also, Daeron's dragon really, really doesn't like Ormund. The ending got dark and really made me feel bad for Daeron.

If you compare his body to Meleys (which they showed over the wall of the castle in the clip) he’s not rotting. He’s pretty well intact.

In the book his wing was half ripped off and he couldn’t fly so Cole’s men had to feed him sheep. He didn’t fly again until several months later when Maidenpool came to kill him.

I don't see that at all. They're portraying her as really, really incompetent and unprepared to be Queen. It's absolutely her fault that she doesn't have a decent council, ran off her Hand of the King, etc.

This is the same disagreement from last episode. She is definitely not blameless in the show but they are definitely softening her character.

They are making her look like a bad queen for sure but a well intentioned bad queen. She sucks at the job but shes trying to do what she thinks is best. Whether it’s not legitimizing bastards because of the implications of her claim to the throne or giving money to the poor instead of strengthening her army. Bad decisions but ones she’s making with the best intentions of being a good ruler (Shes not).

The books made her out to be a ruthless mad queen, the show is making her out to be a helpless bad queen. They are not the same thing.

Yes she is responsible for the bad things that are happening but she is not going scorched earth on her enemies in a fit of rage like the books depicted.

You seem pretty focused on her being nerfed specifically though.

We get dueling accounts in the book largely because of the variety of sources and their own allegiances (Green vs. Blacks and what not).

I don't see Daemon as a dumbass though. He's just not perfect.

So what is the deal with that dragon, Daeron, and Ormonde?

show is asking for quite a bit of suspension of belief in order to engage with this or ormond/dereon storyline

-rhaenyra and daemon have to have never even met the infant before he was sent to oldtown. That was a long time ago; those two had ample opportunity to (and no real reason not to have) at least lay eyes on him and note that he has brown hair

-the fact that he has brown hair seems to be the catalyst for ormonds plot…he can be passed off as and accepted as a “hightower” and not a Targaryen. But in the decade and a half he’s been gone, nobody has met him that would pass word of his hair color? He’s never once traveled to kings landing to visit his parents? Didn’t even got to viserys’ funeral? Or it that was too dangerous, come see him and say goodbye?

-and before you say the hair color isn’t the thing, daemon was clearly expecting a blonde teenager. And alicent immediately knew the blonde ringer wasn’t her kid

-and then we have daemon, taking the word of ormond that he’s turned over daeron, not in any way verifying him, and leaving the dragon?

I don’t know what all happens with daeron (or ormond) in the books but this development strains credulity and continues the pattern of having characters do stupid things to create a conflict

That is what I was thinking, but it makes sense he has darker hair in how Alicent knew right away when she saw fake Daeron.

On the show his hair is dark like his mother's (similar to Jon Snow with one Targ parent, one not).

In the books he had silver hair like the other Targaryens.
