A little backstory for yall, If this isn't your thing don't read.............
Tywin served as the hand and everyone in the 7 kingdoms realized that Tywin was actually the one ruling the kingdom not Aerys (considering Aerys was batshit insane and this was known by pretty much everyone it wasn't such a stretch for most people to come to that conclusion)
This infuriated Aerys who was nothing if not prideful. A few years before Robert's Rebellion Tywin offered to marry Cersei to Rhaegar (Aery's son and heir) to which Aerys responded by saying something along the lines of "my son will not marry the help". This act coupled with Aerys spitefully raising Jaime Lannister to the Kingsguard (in the process robbing Tywin of his groomed heir) led to Tywin to metaphorically take his ball and go home. He didn't come back until he arrived with his army and sacked King's Landing and wiped the remaining Targaryens out.

yeah also 2 things
1. when jamie was appointed to the kingsguard, he lost all inheritance rights. it was the definition of a total dick move, especially in light of...
2. tywinn rebuilding the lannister fortune. his father almost lost it all. he rebuilt their fortune, then rebuilt their name as hand of the king, and rhaegar basically shite on him
when you put these 2 together, along with tywinn's obvious schemes to get his heir on the throne, you can kind of get a better feel for the whole jamie/cersei stuff

Not Rhaegar... Aerys was the Mad King. Rhaegar was never king. Robert killed him in single combat during the Battle of the Trident before the sack of Kings Landing.

Anytime I ask my girlfriend questions she just replies, "I don't know, I don't care I like the show but I'm not gonna think about it."
She honestly does like the show but she doesn't really analyze or think about it just watches it. I've tried prying but she just tells me to shut up lol.

Jon Snow is almost without question a Stark in some way. I don't think Ned was lying to him when he said that he had his blood.

Well, Robert is the one person I think Ned is trying to hide Jon's true parentage from, if my theory is correct.
