From that article it looked like they put a lot into this battle. To be honest, I would have been happy with them showing a small portion of it (The battle I really would like to see for some reason is Stanis against the wildlings) but I'm definitely not gonna complain that they seem to have gone all out on it.

The problem with talissa (or whatever) not being jeyne westerling is it removes a large part of the possible pregnancy subplot. She's also not related to maggy the maegie lady.
Now she has no reason to encounter Jaime and no support structure/family to hide the possible pregnancy from others.
In the books Jeynes descrtiption by catelyn and Jaime is different plus one of her cousins of the same age is not able to meet with Jaime, giving the possibillity that they are covering for her pregnancy.
There may be more to talissa story - if in fact she is a spy then the whole slave story could be made up. But I think it very unlikely she's a spy as that would be a huge departure from the books - much bigger than any other possibilites with this part of the story.

We'll see. The writers have done a pretty good job thus far with following the book even when things have been skipped (the Reeds).

so I reread the chapters for blackwater in anticipation, question:
Have we been introduced to Mandon Moore yet?? Was he the Kingsguard Tyrion was telling off during the riot? Has he been established enough to turn on Tyrion or will another character do the deed????

yea, basically the only kingsguard that they have shown regularly has been Meryn Trant, so it'll likely be him. He was also the one who beat Sansa and fought/killed Syrio.
I'll be surprised if it goes down like it did in the book. Pod has been established even less than Trant, so I have a strong feeling it's due some changes. Doubtful Tyrion will get his big scar

Tyrions probably going to get a Locke like scar. Something that wil be noticeable but easy for makeup to do everyday.

Last year I really enjoyed reading the twitter recaps on Winter is Coming. I forgot about them until tonight. Almost as fun as watching the episode.

Yeah I read those every week.
If anyone wants to read the chapter summaries of Blackwater Bay here is a link. This is the first POV chapter about the battle, simply click next to read Davos and Tyrions chapters.

Loras's prowess with a sword doesn't come into play until the 4th book. The 3 Jamie is talking about is Selmy as both Cleganes. Those are the only three Jamie has any respect for.

I thought Jon holding down the wall from the entire wildling army was the best part of the first 3 books. Thats when Jon became my favorite character.

That was pretty epic. A bigger part of me wanted him to be Lord of Winterfell, though. I guess he can now that he is officially a Lord, I would like to see Winterfell come back. (I'm starting A Dance with Dragons, so don't tell me anything).

I agree that it would be great if Jon ended up ruling the north. I am about half way through ADWD and he has definitely grown as a character in the books and has risen to meet every challenge he has faced.

Where do the novellas fit in? When should someone read them? I'm currently half way thru AFFC.
