But her as little mermaid would not be kid friendly...

Despite S8 being a huge shitshow, I’ll give this series a chance and tune in.

whoever is charge of making prequels will have to regain the franchise credibility that D&D lost.

Total days spent in prison by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for ruining GOT - 0.

If my timing is right, that would put the series right dead smack in the middle of the Andal invasion if you mid-point the two given estimates for it (4,000 years ago and 6,000 years ago).
That could be really interesting if done right. A big if, but still.

But the White Walkers aren’t anywhere near the Andals. The Andals invaded Westeros much closer to the events of Game of Thrones than The Long Night, the later of which they’ve been explicit will happen in this series.

Damn, George leaking like Magic Johnson after meeting with Kawhi Leonard.

Right.
The Long Night was about 8300 years or so before ASOIAF.
Andals invaded around 6000 years before.
Dragons were first found in Valyria around 5000 years before. So this is about where the show will be.

Incorrect. The Andals invaded Westeros fleeing the Valyrians.

VinegarStrokes is correct, but the show has the timeline screwed up.
They show the Children creating the WWs to ward off the First Men, the WWs go rogue, the Children and the First Men suffer through the Long Night, heroes do hero shite, and they disappear.
But according to book history, the Children and first men reach a pact, live in peace, age of heroes happens, then we have the long night, then building of the wall, then the Andal Invasion.
Valyria started it’s rise roughly the same time as the age of heroes.
And the Doom of Valyvria was only a 110-115 years before Aegon’s Conquest, so about 420 years or so before Jon Arryn gets poisoned.
