he's basically a combination of Debby Downer and Eeyore, it's pretty funny once you pick up on it

I think people are too worried about the Stannis casting. Dillane might not be the pictured size, but he definitely has the face for the role. Also, people thought Sean Bean was "too small" to play Ned, but he worked out great.

Since it's a fantasy, a lot of these characters are hard to cast. There aren't too many 7-8' tall actors to play Khal Drogo and the Mountain. I'd say we lucked out with Tyrion Lannister. I certainly couldn't see Verne Troyer or Wee Man playing Tyrion (what other options would there be?). Though if we really want to get technical, Sean Bean was 15-20 years too old to be playing Ned Stark from the book. I'm pretty sure Renly Baratheon was only 21 in the books, while Dany was 13.

they pretty much aged everybody from the books, especially the kids, which really doesn't bother me one bit

If they didn't age Dany, we wouldn't have seen that amazing rack.

A couple of new things to share:

Charlie Chaplin's grandaughter, Oona Chaplin was cast as Jeyne. They aren't saying which Jeyne though

Also, Ron Perlman says he would love to be in Game of Thrones. It's not that far of a stretch either since Martin and Perlman know each other. Perlman was in Beauty and the Beast (tv show) and Martin wrote it.

That would be sweet

I'd guess Westerling, based on importance in this season and just guessing on the look.

Wait, shite, is that even in Clash of Kings? They're all a jumble to me now

I would have said Westerling too by the look, but she shouldn't be in this season.

Kind of disappointed on the Xaro casting. I pictured Manute Bol.

It has to be Jeyne Poole. Westerling isn't in COK. And Poole has a much bigger role down the road.

makes more sense for it to westerling. the show will probably follow rob more than the book did and try to throw in their meeting(which happens during events in the 2nd book but we dont meet her till Catelyns POV in the 3rd)

I'm just getting to Poole's role, so I don't know how deep it goes. But she doesn't have the look of Poole to me.

My guess would be either they show the hookup with Westerling, or they throw some SoS stuff into this season like they did with CoK in the first season. It's not a bad cliffhanger for Robb's story to have it as "oh shite, what are they gonna do now that he just did that?!?".

Damn this season can't get here soon enough.

the scene with Catelyn and Jamie in chains was from the second book (kind of sort of) and i think some of the stuff with Yoren and Arya was from the second book as well

Definitely the stuff with Cat and Jamie. That was at the end of Clash of Kings right before she releases him. Guess they didn't have Edmure or Brynden cast yet and didn't want to show Riverrun.

Brynden hasn't been cast yet has he?
