He's a brother of the Night's Watch who is also a raging optimist.
A few quotes:
A few quotes:
quote:
"We will defend the wall to the last man!" said Cotter Pyke.
"Probably me." Said Dolorous Edd, in a resigned voice.
quote:
"I never win anything," Dolorous Edd complained. "The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?"
"Was it a long fall?" Grenn wanted to know. "Did landing in the pool of water save his life?"
"No," said Dolorous Edd. "He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks."
quote:
"Nothing ever goes missing that they don't look at me, ever since that time I lost my horse. As if that could be helped. He was white and it was snowing, what did they expect?"
quote:
"Gods and dogs alike delight to piss on me."

I think people are too worried about the Stannis casting. Dillane might not be the pictured size, but he definitely has the face for the role. Also, people thought Sean Bean was "too small" to play Ned, but he worked out great.
Mine too.

I think the stannis casting will be good, if im not mistaken hes described as smaller than robert. Lean and cold

He is broad-shouldered and sinewy with leathery skin and a pinched, narrow face. He has only a fringe of black hair remaining around his head and a close-copped beard covering a square jaw. He has dark blue eyes. He is just short of thirty-five.
works for me

picture Stannis as being bigger than that. Also he is going to look older than Robert.
When Stannis and John talked atop the wall at the end of ASOS, stannis was said to be taller than John Snow but thinner. The thinner portion could be the weight of rulling as well as the magic of the Lord of Light weighing on him. But he is definately not small.
