I just wanted something to trigger it. Yes. They've been building towards that.

A silent sorrowful glance when hearing bells was lazy and cheap.

Tyrion goes on trial. Sansa comes down to KL with. Brienne. Maybe Bronn as well.

Dany and Grey Worm against Sansa, Arya and Jon.

Tyrion at risk.

Maybe Cersei is dead and Jaime Lannister is alive in the bottom of that castle and comes out enraged against Dani as well and works with Brienne.

Who gets it.

The mistake I think People are making is that she goes Mad when the bells ring.

She’s already mad. And when total Victory doesn’t make her feel any different she goes for it.

I agree. Have the character signify that. A sorrowful glance during the bells was just lazy film making.

Would've been great for her to say to Jon or Drogon or herself something like:

"Now that the Throne is mine, I will be it's last queen"

"Kings Landing knows nothing of my anger and pain. I shall show them what fear is"

And then she flies drogon up and proceeds to burn King's Landing to the ground. Something to make that moment epic and memorable. Instead of glossed over and boring. boring

I guess we are gonna ignore the fact that she told greyworm to “watch for my signal you will know it when you see it” prior to the battle? It’s not like she hadn’t been planning this. At least since missendei died and the people didn’t flee kings landing she has been dwelling on this and at least been 50-50 until that moment when she tipped over

I was literally laughing when the North men started raping and killing women and children....because of how stupid that was and unbelievable.
Half the north took up arms for the family—a family knowing for to flaying people alive—that helped slaughter their king, his wife, and his mother at his uncles wedding. And then when the sadistic bastard killed his father, they fought for him, even after he playfully slaughtered the young son of their former Lord and brother to their former king. So to expect the North’s soldiers to NOT have some soldiers ready to rape and pillage, is quite strange.

And I mean even in our relatively modern times, every army has had soldiers, even entire squadrons of soldiers who have som far worse (Japanese in China during WWII, including our own, bunch of army in history, let alone in the feudal (Westeros) and Steppe (Dothraki) that is a large basis for this fictional universe.

And just to add to that, they just for fighting the army of the dead. Now they have women plus potential riches and glory all around them.

Once you see things in that vein you will see 8 seasons of build up to that moment and understand the decisions of D and D that the night king was a distraction and the big payoff is this.

They ended like 5 or 6 seasons or so with a “hero” shot of Dany that manipulated viewers into ignoring the crazy things she did to get there. It’s actually been pretty great storytelling IMO.

Not even 60 pages yet. Used to be we would be in the 80's or 90's by now.

Guess it shows how much the crap scriptwriting has turned off fans.

Didn't have a problem with most of the episode.

And actually a nod to the books knowing they’re done in point of view style with lots of unreliable narrators.

I still dont understand how no one noticed Jamie had been set free. It was the night before, and the battle didnt start until the next day.

I do wish in the books that Jorah was the POV and not Daenerys, and once Jorah leaves the scene, transfer it to Barristan.

I’ll never agree with some of D&Ds decisions but you’ve done a decent job of explaining this particular one

Care to refute anything I said? I welcome a rebuttal. The white walkers/night king needed AT MOST 15-20 more minutes of background exploration. Pursuing extra time with the battle would have meant less time with the thing they’ve spent 8 seasons working towards. If you want to bring up prince who was promised/Azor Ahai then I would ask this-Jon killing a queen who he loved in order to essentially save Westeros, what more do you need than that?

But Dany won the city. It’s far more petty than even her piece of shite father. He wouldn’t light the city on fire unless it was being sacked, and he was a paranoid schizophrenic for years on top of that. Dany is officially a worse and more batshit crazy person than her father. I’m sure she’ll have all sorts of colorful nicknames in the history books.
