Ladytiger-

That video was great. It is really sad to see what was potentially the best series ever made succumb to what may be the worst concluding season ever. The video basically captured it in a nutshell.

This show has turned into a train wreck. I want so badly to look away, but I have to sadly view the carnage in real time.

I’m trying to remember an instance where something was built up with so much hype and promise to just fall so flat.

I am cancelling HBO after this shitshow is done.

Final season hasn’t been as good as past seasons, but I don’t see any reason they can’t stick the landing. All the biggest plot elements are there. I’m not saying they’ll do it, I just don’t think it’s already a lost cause.

Starting to think the reason GRRM suddenly went off the rails writing all of these side novellas and companion books is because Time Warner convinced him they needed source material for some lame arse spinoffs

There’s plenty of source material readily available if they wanted to do a spinoff about Robert’s Rebellion or Aegon’s Conquest.

Starting from S1E1? My man

Going to rewatch whole series after and read books also. Bet following this show for 7 1/2 seasons was a cool ride, but waiting for season cliffhangers would've been insane.

Plus, not getting surprises spoiled was probally a difficult task if one watched since begining. I've only been on GOT train for 3 weeks and I've stayed off social sites because I don't want to know any spoilers. Shoot, that's one of the best things about this show, is the surprises, or trying to figuring out what might happen next! Can't wait to see how it all ends, but with only two episodes left, I'm bumnmed that we won't learn more historical stuff (War, wall, mad king, etc.) We loved those few historical flashbacks they've had but they didn't give us enough of it....:(

Shocking and brutal death has long been a part of "Thrones," but Missandei's death also represents the culmination of its problems with race. The series has never been good at developing its characters of color and their cultures , as it has with white characters. Missandei always felt one-note, even as Emmanuel gave great performances.

At this point the series had just two named characters of color, and just killed off one of them as motivation for Dany, a white savior, reducing Missandei, who's black, to a prop for Dany's story. Adding insult: Missandei, a former slave, was literally returned to chains in her last moments of life.

Fat, white, SJW women try to ruin everything. We get it bitch. She's "woke" and she sleeps with black guys. That doesn't make her an expert on race topics.

Just saw this after my post above, I'd love to watch all that and even more of their history.

In regards to that:

I guess that would’ve been too smart for Dany since they seem keen on making her and Jon idiots.

And no one has mentioned the fact that they were forged from Ice, the Stark family sword. Guess they're all over it.

The writers forgot about it I’m sure.

Do any of the Starks know?

I guess Sansa

But Jon has a VS sword and it is true 2 are better than 1 in the battle va the NK.

Maybe they’ll reforge ICE after Jamie and Brienne die

For sentimental reasons, I’d love to see them reforge Ice. Ice was simply a ceremonial sword or used for executions, though. It was far too large to actually wield in battle, unless they gave it to Wun Wun.

I know it's lighter since it's VS but how much would you say Ice weighs?

5 or 6 pounds I would guess.
A zweihander is probably the closest real life comparison we have. Which would weigh around there.
VS may make it lighter.
