I can't get over Euron going 2/2 with the scorpion on flying Rhaegal, but they didn't shoot at a grounded Drogon at a closer distance.

Or open fire on the party at all. Keep every other scorpion at the ready and then fire the rest of them AND the archers at the Unsullied/the leaders of the opposition. If Drogon goes on a rampage, you have the other scorpions ready.

I don't get the trust. Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor - why wouldn't she turn the parlay into a slaughter?

Some of the writing decisions are striking.

Best scenes (as most posters have stated) were Tyrion and Varys discussing Dany.

Yarp, and this would be a time where Littlefinger's advice would be useful.

I left out complaints about Euron in my "review" because I've just become so desensitized to his awfulness. He's the Poochie of Game of Thrones. Keep waiting for him to show up on a sea-skateboard.

I don’t complain about much because i love this show and i still think it’s the best show on tv. But with that being said, the ghost thing made me sad. And gendry proposing to arya, was kinda out of the blue but everything else i can totally understand. Also, it wouldn’t be so bad if Tyrion was king and sansa the warden of the north. I hope melisandre’s prophecy about varys dying is wrong because he really does have the best interest of the realm at heart.

Trying for peace is stupid

How is anything about that brilliant?
He's not trying for peace. Tyrion wanted Euron to know Cersei is pregnant. Now he pretty much has to kill her.

his arc isn't complete if he doesn't kill Cersei
Meh. They kinda don’t hold to things like “arcs”.

That's right, he didn't know yet. Good catch.

2) Dany and her 20 soldiers standing in front of KL like Cersei would kneel to them

Yeah, my wife hasn’t watched any of the seasons except this one and was like “wtf...that’s all she has left?” It was pointless.

The lack of dragon usage is ridiculous but then I guess if she used them efficiently there wouldn’t be a show bc they’d all be wiped out.

It wasn't all she had left (the preview makes this clear). She brought a few hundred unsullied + her last dragon with her to negotiate while the others got their shite together. Those people + dragon were her defense against Cersei sending soldiers out of King's Landing to attack.

I think that’s the only way as well.

She becomes her father.

Euron knew she was pregnant before Tyrion said anything. There was a scene this episode where she said something about the lion would rule the land, the kraken would rule the sea and their child would something something something... He looked down and touched her belly looked up at her and she nodded the he looked at the hand and he nodded as well like yep she's pregnant!

Now how could word have gotten out that fast should have been questionable right then and there on the platform when Tyrion was trying to negotiate.

Or maybe Arya kills her. Either way, her descent into madness won’t be reversible. She has to die.

Why send soldiers when they’ve fine tuned the scorpions to that of a modern day sniper? Hell Euron alone could have killed them all on a single scorpion.

Not much of a defense. Those ballistas are pretty much giant sniper rifles at this point and could’ve easily taken her out.

If you look at Eurons ships, he could easily shoot backwards anyway. Main sail is towards the front and higher up than where the ballista is

Strategy wise, Dany couldn’t risk her last dragon

Why did Davos, one of the most accomplished ship captains left in Westeros, ride with Jon into the field, instead of sailing to Dragonstone, the castle he lived at for years?

Loved the Hound scenes with Arya and Sansa.

Liked the Varys-Tyrion scenes, kept thinking Varys had poisoned the wine.

All 3 dragons have to die, so I'm just accepting that there will be plot contrivances to do so.

The last 30 minutes contained roughly 3 episodes of material, condensed to 10 minute chunks. Embarrassing.

I told my wife I'd be pissed if Tormund and at least a few others didn't peace out this episode. Half the participants of the Battle of Winterfell really had no cause to continue on.
