Nobody's whining. The tables never turned.

Yea, I started calling people names when they called me out multiple times for something that didn't warrant it or happen.

I just had 3 people call me out for "did you even watch bro?" when they couldn't even comprehend what was going on.

If some idiots don't start this crap by calling people out for trying to help the discussion then none of this happens.

Meet me at Sonic.

Then stop poking at me. This works both ways.

Jon has a good line about that when Dany tells him what the witch said

If they’re going to survive, you have to make it plausible. They don’t.

You forgetting that he went to the back of the lines behind all the other Unsullied for a good portion of the fight and for a moment looked like he might even abandon them to take position in the castle. He doesns't think like the other Unsullied anymore b/c he's fallen in love and wants to go off to live with her after the wars.

Judging from the preview, all the named characters survived. Which defies logic, you don’t see anyone in the crypt successfully defending themselves, and if people are going to survive, you do need to show at least one or the whights going down.

By doing that you establish that survival is possible.

The way I saw it is that the wights werent down there very long. How many main characters were down there? 4? It doesnt defy logic that four people could get away and two of them were hidden pretty good.

quote:

Yes. The audience has already grieved for them, and their death is ultimately a relief. Think of the loved one suffering from terminal cancer. The most painful moment is the initial diagnosis.

Thats b.s. I get the cancer comparison but episode two wasnt that much of a death guarantee. And the death is much harder to see on screen than it is to find out someone is dying. Most people assumed Jorah was going to die, but assuming he was going to die in episode two wasnt even close to being as hard to watch as it was seeing him die in Dany's arms. That argument doent hold up.

If they’re going to survive, you have to make it plausible. They don’t.

I agree his wasnt plausible and I would have preferred for him to die. But it doesnt take away from the show that much. not enough to be the difference maker in whether it was a good episode or not.

Can't believe people liked that episode. 15 minutes unnecessary intro where nothing happened

It was a battle episode.

The intro was to build suspense and set the tone for how daunting the task was. Not all exposition has to be quick narration and walking in a garden with a eunuch. The opening credits end at 3:38 and the Dothraki charged at 12:58. So in the 9:20 seconds in between you got Sam being a little bitch, Tyrion grabbing some wine and heading to the crypts, Theon wheeling Bran to the garden, Sansa overlooking the battlefield next to Arya before she heads in. Jorah, Ghost, Brienne, the Hound, Jaime, and Pod looking out to the darkness. Sam showing up and Edd telling him he took his time. Daeny and Jon setting up with the dragons ready to flank. Melisandre showing up to light the Dothrakis swords and to tell Davos she's going to die anyway and also give Arya a weird look.

quote:

40 minutes of blurry battle where nothing happened

The Dothraki were wiped out almost immediately, and given how they just got flaming swords, it was a quick way to extinguish the hope/light that Melisandre had just brought.

The Daeny starts using Drogon and Rhaegal anyway because even though they are vulnerable to the Night King and his ice spear, they needed to lay in wait, they had no choice they were so overwhelmed. And then even as that starts to be somewhat effective, Jon sees the Night King's generals in the back and a wall of ice and snow begins to overwhelm the battlefield. Drogon and Rhaegal collide mid air. Then the ground forces fall back and the Unsullied are left to protect the retreat. Daeny's second great army is being obliterated and Greyworm is completely overwhelmed by how easy it's happening

As the retreat is complete, the Unsullied are almost wiped out, and Greyworm orders the trench to be lit. Daeny can't see Davos' signal. The archers' flaming arrows get extinguished before they can light the trench. The last few unsullied are left protect Melisandre as she lights the trench. In the crypt, Sansa tells Tyrion it would never work because of his loyalty to Daeny and Missandei tells them that without Daeny they'd be fricked.

The Night King then advances and commands the wights to sacrifice themselves to overwhelm the flaming trench and advance up the walls of the castle. They create piles of bodies to scale the wall. The Hound is giving up, and Beric tells him to stop being a whiny bitch because look at Arya. Lyanna Mormont gets crushed like a soda can but takes out a wight giant all the same.

Then the first mid are battle between the dragons happens. The Night King escaped back in to the clouds after almost taking out Jon and Daeny.

Then Arya escapes being hunted by the wights in the castle and what appeared to be the maester's area. She is saved by the Hound and Beric. Then they are with Melisandre and Melisandre gives the hint about blue eyes.

quote:

10 minutes of Night King slow walk

Then the Night King uses Viserion to take out the wall protecting Brann. Jon attacks him with Rhaegal and kills(seemingly) Viserion and knocks the Night King to the ground. Rhaegal is injured and Jon is on the ground. Then as Daeny tries to destroy the Night King, he's impervious to dragon fire, Daeny has to flee, and when Jon tries to confront him, all the dead are raised again(including what you thought a Viserion down for the count), and the dead in the crypts.

The dead overwhelm Drogon, Daeny is knocked to the ground outside the walls only to be saved by Jorah.

Jon is fighting to make his way back to the castle but is pinned down by the reraised Viserion unable to do anything.

You think Sansa and Tyrion are going to suicide pact.

The Night King kills Theon as makes one last knowingly futile attempt to do the honorable thing. Every time he had previously faced a knowing death he was a coward.

quote:

before a lazy, forgettable death

You saw Arya fulfill an ultimate role as not just a sneaky assassin fulfilling personal grudges, but rising to the moment of a true hero.

quote:

then credits.

Then Jorah dies saving the woman he loves. Then Melisandre takes off her necklace and dies. Then credits.

I enjoyed the hell out of this episode and love the Faceless Woman getting the kill.

She's trained her whole life for that moment. Not today god of death! Not today!

But here are my gripes:

1. The darkness. That was ridiculous. I had every light off in my house, turned brightness up on my 60" TV a little bit, and still couldn't see shite in some of the battle scenes.

2. The generals not doing anything. I get they're vulnerable, but I though maybe some action around the tree or something.

3. One of the dragons should have just hovered lower around the castle below the storm and blown fire into the white walkers the entire time. (this is nitpicking)

4. What was that shite between Tyrion and Sansa? Are they now in love or something?

5. They should've just put Sam in the crypts. Him sobbing the entire battle and still not dying was stupid.

6. Really wish Brienne was killed saving Jamie.

All in all though, though it was a hell of a ride. I'm trusting we learn more about the Night King and his origins posthumously from Bran. That needs to happen.

I enjoyed the episode for what it was. Wish a few things played out differently but more than anything its utter bullshite that Cersei will not have to ever deal with the White Walkers/Night King. I thought she sealed her army's fate when she lied about sending troops to help. Biggest disappointment IMO

So a possible actual reason:

The NK wants to kill the 3ER

The 3ER has been protected by magic in his tree forever.

Bran breaks that magic and then flees south beyond the wall, and the NK gets a dragon so he can now knock down the wall.

It makes sense that finally everything came into place now

Brienne needed to go out defending Jamie and that sets Jamie's loyalty for good in the North against Cersei because Brienne swore her life to protect the Starks and Jamie would take up her oath.

That was my prediction and I failed

Things people who are complaining about the end of the series are forgetting

1. Dany has no army, or not much of one

2. Dany and Jon still have conflict

3. Dany has, at best, one loyal dragon now that Rhaegal recognizes Jon as a Targ and has only let Jon ride him

You obviously havent paid attention while watching. You're a terrible fan. You are the douche, actually.

None of this series or the previous season have book support and people are still able to confirm what is going on. Maybe you are just an idiot. All the questions about how something happened or where a character is, are what is insifferable.
