There is no more rational conflict v. Cersei
They have dragons
They have dragons

One of the greatest episodes of all time.
How fricking delusional or ignorant of television history do you have to be to say this?

To defend that episode people are now downplaying the WW?
We're pointing out the absurdity of people claiming the WW were the main plot all series.

Wouldn’t you prefer main characters get killed towards the end in an all out battle against Cersei. It would have felt cheap for Jamie or the Hound to get killed by a bunch of wights. It makes for better story you know the bloodshed is coming at some point.

Yes, the conflict that opened the entire show and consumed the majority of s7 is a sideshow

Let people have their overreactions. Just like you will find a way to bitch about every episode, others will overhyped an episode.

There was more political intrigue but they (the WW) we're always the primary big bad.

They were to John, Bran, ETC
This whole forcing of everyone together then made it all of their focus, too
I hated that but it is what it is

The claim was that they are THE central plot of the entire series...despite having less than an hour of total screen time devoted to them in the first 67 episodes.
It’s a demonstrably false claim

Obviously there will be more deaths to come. I can even see why grey worm survived, but there is no reason brienne should still be alive.

Those who survived for the most part knew how to fight and ended 1-on-1's quick, and got to high ground or got a wall behind their backs. They would have eventually tired and fell.
Problem is the show panned to them multiple times being damn near completely overrun. Then conveniently cut away and they were fine again.

The WW storyline consisted of nothing more than 1-2 teaser moments per year or the first 4 seasons. The first episode in which that storyline is a headliner comes near the end of season 5. Before Hardhome, the WWs are a menacing side plot at best. In the first 7 seasons, the white walkers and the wights have a grand total of 48 minutes of screen time. 48 minutes in 7 fricking seasons, more than half that being the battle at Hardhome and the episode Hodor dies. For reference, two characters who died tonight have INDIVIDUALLY had more screen time than the entire WW plot line has been given.
Count screen time to me all that you want, but the series has clearly been building towards that. You're lying to yourself if you say otherwise.

It was a side show until Season 7. How can you really debate that?

John's entire arc was based around them. Bran too.

Anyone who has mentioned deus ex machine or how this would have never happened in the books are fricking losers, straight up

I liked the last one. People think I’m negative Nancy on everything, but I just have consistent expectations.

Yeah I could have sworn Brienne was about to die a couple of times and then she was fine. I didn’t like it.

Did anybody ever think that's because they are literally the best fighters in the entire army? Better planning. Better fighting skills. Better forsite to retreat and get better position. Better at having a cool head.
Most of them were behind the line and giving command. First shot at retreat.

Yep and Jon was practically neutered throughout the whole episode.

Also, would you like to count Thanos screentime in ALL of the MCU films and still make the same argument?
