they decided to fight the night king. they put their political bullshite aside for one moment to address the common good. either jon or dany will be rewarded for it. cersei decided not to, and she will be punished for it

if GRRM was the head of this, id feel very confident that the NK would win

It seems like it’s more of a OML hates her character issue, considering you turn into a puddle of goo for a solid three months on this board every time she does anything of significance in the show.

Arya is my second favorite character behind Jaime, so frick off on this narrative.

She worged into the boar that killed him eh? No the dude liked to do dangerous hunts drunk, it was going to get him killed eventually.

Lancel literally confirmed that he was instructed by Cersei to get Robert drunk on the hunt

I just want something to go totally left field and off of this cliche fan service path that this ending is headed towards. The show is so much better like that.

The first 20-30 minutes was edge of your seat tension the whole time. The constant nervousness of everyone, hardly any dialogue, then the Dothraki disappear in seconds

That was fricking terrifying. I knew the living were in for a lonnnnggg fight the moment the last one of those flaming swords went out. Although maybe a dumb tactical move, that was an awesome scene.

It's called Game of Thrones. It's mainly a political drama revolving around human drama.
I think this is a great deal as to why I didn't find the resolution of that battle very rewarding.

There was no subterfuge, no emotional connection, no mixed emotions about who one wanted to emerge the winner, and only one character on the entire other side. It was a fight against mindless zombies who were winning by sheer brute numbers, nothing beyond that.

Blackwater Bay wasn't as long of a fight but you got to see both camps and their leaders throwing the frick down. It was more drama. Getting zerg'ed wasn't drama.

He/rhaegal attacked NK/ice dragon first, and he tried to take on NK 1-on-1, but yeah I was definitely hoping he’d have a bigger role. Dany and Jon spent way too much time fricking around up in the storm when they could have been absolutely massacring those wights standing outside the fire pit.

cersei faking an alliance to their faces to lead them off to what she thought would be their doom while she came from behind and reclaimed her lost lands is literally as "playing the game" as it can possibly get

Never got the sense it was going to be an Assassination attempt. Think you’re reading into that/trying to justify it. It was terrible. The rest of the episode was fantastic but to throw away the NK like that was an awful decision. What the hell was Bran doing the whole time? He literally served no purpose but to just sit there?

I would’ve been fine with Arya killing the NK if it had been well written and had been earned. It wasn’t. Jon didn’t have to be the one, that’s not what people hated about it

Let's not kid ourselves - you and other would have bitched with literally any ending to the NK.

Rockyn, you get it my friend. This is why Blackwater will always be the best battle episode. It was such an emotional conflict because there are characters you love and hate on both sides. no other battle episode has had that. just good vs evil

This thread just proves that the fart smelling episode of Southpark wasn’t entertainment. It was fricking prophesy.

You people that hate this episode suck.

Agreed, and the unsullied are some fearless bastards. That was some cool shite to watch.
