D have turned it into a "happy endings" show

I musta missed that

I remember

Princess Shireen burning
Viserion turning
Sept of Baelor blowing and everyone that died with it
Hodor

It would be pretty fricking boring if things were dreary all the time

at the 1 hour and 5 minute mark, Alt Shift X is finally realizing the battle for the dawn was 1 episode and 3 will be dedicated to Cersei

he's probably about to realize his theory that the NK isn't dead isn't true, also

if that's your list, when the show just faced literal apocalypse and nobody of importance died, well then i was just proven right

did you start watching in season 6?

Do you think all of these characters will make it to the end? I bet not

I think 4&5 are Cersei
6 is world building for the sequel

I also don’t think the big battle coming is going to be two armies going head to head. There’s going to be some betrayal and it’ll be a slaughter

to her sword training in season 1 to all of the faceless man entire season training / fighting - it was all to get her to this point.

so her dance instructor, the faceless man, and the red witch were all the same person changing disguises?

Was a bit tipsy last night, but the red witch says "marve magoolis" or whatever, then says "what do we say to death, not today" which was what the dance dude said to her. Then Ayra says I see a thousand eyes/faces or whatever when looking at her, implying shes in disguise?

Correct me, why are those 3 people dance/faceless/witch all speaking to Arya with similar messages?

Alot of people complaining about the fight against the NK not being the final episode. Don't get that. We really think had they wrote this to where Cersei teams up with them and they win, everyone's just happy go lucky thank God were all alive? No, there always needed to be a post WW cleanup to resolve the Cersei/Dany power struggle.

Unless the NK just rolled everyone and sat on the throne himself, which I was fully expecting. But that's not what happened.

It'll be a happy ending that sets HBO up for sequels and movies. 100% guaranteed.

They ran out of book source material, which contained all the interesting plots and risks, and this show was too profitable to risk at that point. So they turned it into a Hollywood money printing machine. It'll end as a paint by numbers story book ending and it'll set HBO up for a sequel series with these same actors who for the most part will never find other meaningful work.

What would be considered a happy ending to you?

I know its probably wrong but I was thinking it was odd they they built up the WW, had them as a group of 13 standing around white he converts a baby, etc. I know the plan was to kill the NK and all the Wights die, but what bout the WW? They were shown as different, more powerful, and fundamentally are killed different from the Wights. They raised dead of their own. They were created not raised from the dead. Are they still out there? Maybe one of them at the most? Or are we just to assume the NK was the source of energy for them as well? Even though it was never even hinted at?

I have a feeling the final scene of GOT after the Iron Throne is 100% resolved, right before credits, is a flash forward to the baby the NK turned, aka his "Son" opening his blue eye, end series.

Then you have your perfect sequel laid out for whenever you want to return after this prequel, and hell, you are even setting up the prequel bc you can always go back to the 3ER / Night King origins.

Jesus dude, the WW’s are the ones who were turned while they were living, the wights were risen from the dead. This has been covered ad nauseum. It’s over, they aren’t coming back

ETA: In beyond the wall it is even stated that “he turned them all”

Were some of you miserable loons under the impression that everyone was going to be dead in the end and all of the evil people were going to win?

GRRM wrote the books so that the heroes, the Starks, would have to go through misery and be sharpened, so that in the end, the survivors would ultimately prevail, but be forever changed by it.

He has gone on record many times as saying it will be a "bittersweet" ending.

i thought it was a possibility

but i expected some real stakes, especially after wasting 2 episodes of a reunion, "what are they doing now?" roller coaster

D or D, which are you?

yeah which means the humans have to suffer real losses and it won't be wrapped up in a bow, which is the opposite of how D/D have treated it

i mean we're talking about "non-game players" like Brienne, Pod, Greyworm, etc.

Arya kills Cersei. A bunch of troops with no leader and no general either defect or are decimated in dragon fire.

This is something I’m pleased by and what I was fearing in the final season. I’m glad the Night King was taken out, I just never remotely considered that anyone but Jon would kill him, with Dany being the only exception. Just all the prophesy and build-up for years which were really meaningless by the end. I liked the episode up until Arya killed the Night King, but I’ve just resigned myself with the green eyes comment that she’ll also kill Cersei. Hoping for Dany to go full Mad Queen by the end.
