I told my friend before the episode came on that I was super excited about the Golden Company and the elephants. You should have seen my face when the dude was like "oh, yeah, no elephants, sorry bout that". :/

i laughed my arse off when my phone told me that alt shift x posted a video like 15-20 minutes after the episode

Sam didn’t exactly seem sad about his father dying. He definitely seemed upset when Dany mentioned Dickon also died.
And yes Cersi sending Bronn after Jamie/Tyrion is dumb. But I don’t think she knows the same type of stuff the viewers know about those relationships. She’s over confident and cocky. Completely in line with her character

I really empathized with Cersei when she was complaining about no elephants.

Not directed at you.
Tons of people in here bitching yet not much talk about Sam revealing Jon’s true parentage to him. That was amazing.

I felt the same exact way during the season 4 finale because I thought for sure we'd get Lady Stoneheart.

Other side note:
Poor Edward had his face burned off was in reference to Ed shireen's character

quote:No, it was episode 1 of season 2, when Jeor gave his awesome "we're all gonna die" speech.
It was in episode one when they displayed the bodies correct?

That was good but not two years in the making good

I’m going to laugh my arse off when the War is over and Dany and/or Jon reward Bronn with a castle.... and it’s a burnt up King’s Landing while they fly away to found a new capital city. The last scene of the series is Bronn looking around the burnt out great hall looking over at the the Iron Throne (what’s left of it) and saying frick. Fade to black.

Seriously even with my most a-hole friends, I’m supposed to go kill them without tipping them off? It’s the dumbest plan ever.
The whole bronn thing is a very weird thing to get hung up on. You can pick apart an episode to death, it wasn’t the best episode but at the same time it met my expectations

About what I expected. Solid, and slow like almost every season opener

I think as the 1st episode usually does, it set things up perfectly. Was a ton of pressure in this episode. I think they did it.

I don’t see how Cersei sending Bron after them is so out of character for her. It seems like it fits her character pretty well actually.
Nah that's some Littlefinger shite. Hes the only one with the personality type that would need to kill you with your best friend.
Cersei tries to set up "accidents." Examples: Robert and the melee, Robert and the boar, Mandon Moore and tyrion

Finally caught up and not one mention of what arya asked Gentry to make, any guesses out there? I didn't get a good look.
Also, in the books it was a big deal who would ride the other dragons. I know the "cat was out of the bag" with us knowing r+l=j, and it was a bit (very) cheesy, but had to be done.

the bronn stuff is silly until he actually kills one of them
it's likely setting up him bro'ing out, possibly ending conflict b/w the brothers or something (b/c this show is pretty straightforward now that D/D have full control)
if he kills tyrion with a crossbow in the middle of a war, then yeah we can fan riot
