It was a pretty good episode. Didn't like the cliffhanger though. And also I just hate how they have dumbed down Tyrion so much. In what world is Sansa Stark smarter than Tyrion Lannister or Varys?

It’s playing into Sam’s comment to Jon questioning if Dani would have given up her crown.
Keep up bud.
I'm just making an observation, she seems to be much more caught up in her queenliness, and giving sam whatever he wants when she becomes queen, and bitching about everyone who questions her claim, and next week questioning Jaimee for killing her father....like just forget about the reason why you are in winterfell to begin with.

Well, I liked the episode. I knew it wasn't going to be "enough", I've been waiting 2 years like everyone else. But there actually were some good things.
Jon and Dany riding the dragons. I like that the dragon presented himself to Jon, and I like that Jon was able to steer away from following Dany- I don't think she expected him to be able to do that. He was the one that led them to the landing at the waterfall, not her.
North being a little pissy about Jon bending the knee. I think that will change now that the game is on; "so you got a huge army and two dragons against those zombies? Thanks!"
Jon being told the truth- everything he's done has been to save the people. He's not going to risk a division to claim the throne, when he knows the throne is lost unless they win. I think Ser Davos' idea of "a proposal" saves him from that move, anyway- if he marries Dany, he gets the throne anyway, he just has to share it with her. And he's the perfect guy to control her temper, as Varys suggested to Tyrion (he didn't suggest Jon, but it was when we last discussed burning the Tarly's).
Dany showed regret about that btw, she saw that burning a defiant prisoner hurt Sam, even though he was exiled by his father.
Baby Umber Demon- we saw that design in the caves, when Jon showed Dany the cave paintings. In addition to the times the Night King did the bodies, and the gathering of the Children.
-I saw the eyes, saw it coming. My son didn't and jumped. I think that means the Night King saw and knows of Tormund and Beric, before they burned him. Not that it really matters, but he probably saw through the baby.
Jaime's fricked, who pleads on his behalf? Tyrion his brother, Brienne, maybe Jon too- he's honoring his pledge even if not bringing an army. Jon likes that stuff.
Bronn- could see that as a means of Cersei getting Bronn out of there, and if he follows through so much the better. But Bronn probably knows Cersei doesn't plan on him living either way.
I think the teaser is misdirection, they're talking about death for someone else. Beric's on Arya's list, or was... don't believe Jaime was ever actually named. So her comments might be towards Beric.
Odd little note, I found it strange that Qyburn would say "bad news, the Wall has been breached". I mean, we all knew Cersei would say GOOD, but I figured Qyburn would be more in on the deal. Was he being droll, or was he actually thinking this might not be a good thing? He does comment that Cersei has been very good for him, but he's a practical fella. Might be the seeds of yet another betrayal coming.

Golden company: “Sorry, no elephants. We asked but HBO said they only had enough CGI budget for one of these.”

Theon maybe.
Bran is also being kind of a little bitch. Other's hinted at him, bro, you're a disabled autistic kid. At least have a fricking sense of humor or no one will want to hang with you

that is actually the point when i was completely turned off
the episode wasn't bad just mediocre
shite like sansa being the smartest person ever is straight up the opposite of being smart (aka, it's retarded)

I think that is the through line for this season. Dany struggles with giving up her power and actually I bet she gets pretty pissed next week

I was so frustrated when Jon then Hound rode past Arya in the first scene and did not see her.
I hope The Hound and Arya get to work things out.

I like how he rolls his eyes during the introductions and says we don’t have time for this. But he is fine with muddying the waters by telling Jon who his parents are

And the trailer criers will say wrong.

I was real bummed about the elephants. I really empathized with Cersei when she was complaining about no elephants.

Agreed. Sansa can be smart without undermining previous perfect players of the game like Tyrion or Varys. She can be good at ruling without becoming Littlefinger 2.0

I understand why you didn't like the Bronn scene. However, think about it. Such an offer is so cersai. She is like Gail Wynand. She wants him to kill to people he likes, to totally corrupt him. She wants to show she can bend a lowborn sellsword to her will.

I agree with that. Sansa being “smarter” than everyone else came out of left field.

quote:I'm not sure why so many people are getting so hung up on this. Bronn has been very vocal that his only allegiance is to gold. Cersei doesn't like Bronn (May be mixing the show with real life here, apologies if so), hasn't seen all the interaction that we have, and is way over confident. Thinking she can buy him off with gold and promises is in character. Whats worst case scenario anyway? She loses one unmotivated good soldier, 3 chests of gold, and Tyrion/Jaime now know she wants them dead? Tyrion knew that decades ago and Jaime certainly wouldn't be surprised. Bronn is just gunna take the money and join up with his boys.
Seriously even with my most a-hole friends, I’m supposed to go kill them without tipping them off? It’s the dumbest plan ever.
