He believes him but knows that when Winter has come in the past, the wall has provided the necessary protection and every winter has left....until now since Bran has crossed the wall.

Was the house that the Hound and the Brotherhod stayed at the same one where he and Arya stayed for a while and then he stole their money?

Yep...he said they wouldn't make it through Winter. So he got to see his prediction come to fruition.

I'm on the fence about it. I thought overall it was a good scene but the fact they used Sheerhan so obviously was kind of distracting.

Sort of this. The scene itself was wasted due to the seemingly "wink, check this out" vibe from Sheeran singing. It just seemed totally unnecessary, I don't know. I get Arya is a killer and whatnot, but we know she is more than that. We know she's hellbent on revenge, but she's not some evil person.

Hell, when when she killed all the Freys, she only killed the ones responsible (she told the little girl/daughter not to drink the wine).

I guess to me it just felt like that scene existed because they wanted to put Ed Sheeran on the show.

I know. I just mean he seems to believe him, and so he knows that the WWs are true. So what could it hurt to allow Sam access to information that may come in handy, even if just to relay to the Night's Watch on the Wall for then the WWs do show up.

Seems awfully arrogant on the part of the archmaester, but maybe that's the point?

That is what truly made it badass. She had eye witnesses to go and tell what happened. "Tell them The North remembers. Tell them Winter came for house Frey"...that was a truly awesome scene.

I think that is partially the point...and that the Maesters believe they have a role of observers rather than participants in what happens outside of the Citadel.

So the Karstarks and Umbers got to keep their castles. Who gets the Bolton castle? I don't think there are any heirs..

Is Jon legitimized now or does Winterfell go to Bran, when he gets back?

Last, wasn't Balish supposed to be lord of the Riverlands and over Harrenhall? Or did Cersei take that back?

The Sheeran scene definitely was a little too wink-wink, nudge-nudge.

It felt like the sitcom crossovers that happened in the 90s.

"Tune in next week when in a Family Matters/GOT crossover when it is discovered that Steve Urkel has crossed dimensions and become a soldier in the Unsullied."

Yeah, it was almost as bad as that time Boromir made a crossover in the first season.

I didn't think the Ed Sheeran scene was all that bad. I feel like it reminded us she does still have human feelings, we got to see her chill and seem to moderately have a good time not having to watch her back (which she hasn't done since like season 1). It showed me that these soldiers are human too, they miss their families, they aren't all monsters. It also showed us that Arya is going to Kings Landing, which is kinda disappointing bc I want her to go home to Winterfell and reunite with her family.

PS-I wish I had a Cocomo MS Paint Map of Westeros...I can't remember where all the castles/houses are for shite now.

I liked the Hound's storyline. He's always shown some sort of decency or moral compass despite being such a badass a-hole most of the time. I didn't care for his vision in the fire though...I honestly kept waiting for him to bust out laughing and mock Thoros and Beric.

Agreed with basically your whole post, but especially this. I hate to admit it, but I think it was the acting, though the director could've changed the scene when he saw it wasn't working, which had to be obvious. Maybe another "I see nothing" and "try again" would've made it more believable, or if he made a brief joke about seeing something outlandish and then went into his vision... or just show us flashes of his vision a la Bran and the Mad King and wildfire visions.... just something, or anything else. The scene just didn't work.

Last season the HBO Go app had a program called After the Thrones. Anyone if they will be bringing that back?

It was cancelled.

The people who did the show are still doing it live on Twitter though; right after GoT airs.

So one thing I don't understand is how the WW got a hold of Wun Wun being that he was killed inside the gates of winterfell? You would think Jon Snow of all people would have burnt that big SOB just to make damn sure he doesn't end up on the WWs side

That's the debate. If it was Wun Wun, it means two things: the white walkers are beyond the wall, and they can reanimate those killed by means other than themselves.

I thought the damaged eye was a clear cut Wun Wun. I mean they made it a point to zoom into his face
