Realistically it would take a week for Dany to make it there. Dragonstone is a thousand miles away, and I think it would take the raven a few days, and then at least 2 for Dany to make it there herself.

I guess, but you can see the two glands on either side of the dragon's mouth when they open their mouths. I always figured the fire comes from those glands. That ice weapon hit the dragon near it shoulder blade and/or back.
ETA: But I guess the flammable fluid circulates throughout their bodies or something.
