Plus having her hands behind her back all the time in this episode. That's not how she moves. Or how she speaks. The whole thing was weird.
That is true. Hmmmmmm

Who is going to wield Heartsbane?
Sam has it but he wont wield it. Sam wants to be a wizard. It was shown multiple times which leads me to think he will learn the magic on Lord of Light or something else. But he has a part to play in the war and it wont be wielding weapons. He will become a sorcerer.

At first I wanted Jon to slap that little twat. But then I realized that it was hilarious that they were getting their asses handed to them by a 10 yr. old.

Long time lurker of TD and have really enjoyed both the show threads and the Crackpot thread. My .02:
First off, this season has really delivered. I think I'm really enjoying it mostly bc we're in uncharted territory from the books (for the most part).
I've been really curious about the religious aspect of the series. Ian's character spoke about all the different "gods" from all the various religions and who knows which is right, maybe they're all the same when talking to the Hound.(paraphrasing). It'll be interesting to see how these religions affect the end game.
Also, what's everyone's thoughts on Bloodraven making Aerys mad? I know a lot of you hated the idea of Bran being the one that screwed him up and wanted to attribute him being crazy bc of incest. But I'm digging the theory that it was Bloodraven that screwed him up by trying to warn him, which then he learned he can't mess with the past (like Bran with Hodor).
TL;DR...I'll just hold the door on my way out...

No, it's just about as bad. Aerys and Aerys alone is responsible for his madness. Sure Tywin and Duskendale helped push him along, but I think his total madness was inevitable in one way or another. Aerys has always been a delusional dick, but it just went out of control as he got older.

Lyanna Mormont was the highlight of the night for me.
I've been a bit frustrated with this season, because it's been so much setup with so little payoff.
I know the producers need time to move people around, but I can't help thinking they could give us a little more meat along the way. I'm not going to judge a season until it's complete. These last few episodes could be dynamite. But I've rarely heard more lumps of bullshite fed to us before the season than this time out:
Get real. Like I said... this season is not done yet... but to say that there are no weak episodes is so far from reality, I'm not sure how to respond to that.
Last night was the first time I felt some momentum building as far as big things happening, thanks to Margaery and the Hound. Viewers have the right to expect a lot out of these next three episodes. They've invested time watching a lot of boring stuff (More Dany speeches, Tyrion talking about nothing with Grey Worm and Missandei, The Mountain standing in the background ALL THE TIME), sprinkled with a little exciting stuff (Jon's resurrection, Hodor). We haven't had that knockout episode yet this season... an episode that you want to rewatch.
The next three episodes NEED to be insane to save this season from ranking dead last, in my opinion. I wouldn't re-watch any of them from this season so far.

“The whole season,” Benioff replied. “Dan and I talk about this a lot. This is not us trying to hype it. Usually there’s an episode or two we’re kind of nervous about, that didn’t turn out as well as we hoped. This season there is not a weak episode. We had great directors who knew what they were doing, paired with excellent [directors of photography]. We thought at the script stage it might be our strongest season. Then the episodes came in better than we hoped.”

Beyond Jon's resurrection, and Hodor's heroism, how would you say this season has "really delivered?" I'm not seeing it. I would like to know what you see.

IDk there have been some big moments
Jon coming back, hanging the traitors. Those episodes were all pretty solid.
Dany burning down that hut with all the Kahls in it.
Hodor was a big moment in a pretty dull epside
There are getting to be too many storylines. its like a slower guy ritchie movie the way they are all going to come together.

the season has already been way better than last season
the first episode was weak and had me worried, but I've quite enjoyed every other episode this season

I'm hoping Jaime matches North and joins with Jon. Jaime's only real regret in life is failing to protect Rhaegar's children from his father, so it would be a nice chance for redemption.

Jaquen told Arya that "one way or another" her face would end up on the wall when he sent her out to kill Lady Crane. I took that as either she will fail and they'll kill her and take her face, or she would succeed and truly become no one and have her face removed.
LOL, what? He said "One way or another, a face is added to the wall." In other words, either her targets if she succeeds or hers if she fails.

Not sure what to think
quote:
Redditor catNamedStupidity has a theory on the Waif and what her true relationship to Arya might be. The shortest way to explain it? What if Game of Thrones is pulling a Fight Club and Arya is the Waif? Think about it: the Waif is only ever seen by Arya and Jaqen, everyone else seems to ignore her even when she’s beating the crap out of Arya. She always knows where Arya is and is always lurking in the shadows, seeing everything Arya does.
What if the Waif is a disassociated portion of Arya’s personality caused by the water she’s been drinking in the House of Black and White? The Waif is the real No One, and her mission is to kill Arya Stark in order to transform her into a Faceless Man. When the Waif asked Jaqen to kill Arya, he seemed pleased. In effect Arya was finally asking him to kill those last parts of herself and truly become No One.
