frick frick frick. frick. I guess they had to cut all of Doran's conspiracy out of the show, but that was the best and most intriguing part of the last two books. Dorne is ruined for me now.
What conspiracy? All he did is reveal some stuff that already failed. There is no Dornish master plan. At least not yet.

I get that the show is different than the books. But I feel like there is no way Dorne follows the rule of the sandsnakes and oberyn's paramour

That was probably the best season premier episode outside maybe the first episode of the show.
I think the Season 2 premiere with the comet was easily better than this one. Had Joffrey's name day, Tyrion arriving and taking over the counsel, Robb intimidates Jaime with Grey Wind, he sends Theon off to his father, we meet Craster, Stannis is introduced, and Cersei has all of Robert's bastards killed.
That's quite a bit better than just Brienne finally meeting Sansa and butchering the Dorne plot line. I can't tell you anything else that happened that didn't simply continue everything else we already knew before.

Two Swords was my favorite season opener.

In the show, they dont' need to 1)Balon die Euron take over 2) Time to get kingsmoot 3) Raid westerlands 4) sail to Slaver's bay
Show version can 1) Kingsmoot 2) Sail to slavers bay 3) caught up
Because, girl power. It's where the show is rapidly going, ridiculously.

The scene right before episode 1 was one of the best. I liked when it started with a scene instead of season review.

I don't like how the show is portraying Jaime's loyalty to Cersei and their solidarity. The book Jaime story is better too. However, Tyrion's story is far better in the show than the book.

I think this episode confirms that Melisandre is Shiera Seastar, whose half brother and lover was Brynden Rivers aka Bloodraven. Bloodraven even proposed marriage to her at one point. Supposedly she takes baths in the bloods of maidens to maintain her beauty

Yeah, and that one was certainly better as well. You had the Red Viper's awesome introduction and where Arya and the Hound kill the Mountain's men at the Inn. There wasn't a scene nearly as good as those during this episode.

S1E1 was the goat opener

Can yall remind me when/how they alluded to Mel's age in the books? I completely missed that.
Good episode.
Good episode.

The problem with dorne is that it's not believable.
How can ellaria and sand snakes go from sneaky around in S4 to getting all of dorne to back them?

Yeah, I'm not digging their relationship at this point in the show. Thought Cersei was sure as shite going to start treating him like dog shite the second he returned. They really need to start building up that animosity, since they're already 2 seasons behind when it comes to that.

Just finished reading the Hodor thread. Separate threads are still a necessity.

Did anyone think it was odd that after they pick up Snow's body from the snow, Davos turns to look at the ground where he was laying and the camera pan to it?
It wasn't until some more people mentioned it on reddit that somebody noticed a possible outline.
The direwolf is pretty easy to see on the right, but the one on the left is a bit harder to see. I also thought some of that looked like ash, but surely it's all blood.

And on top of that, they posted like 10 pages while the episode was going on. And they wonder why they're always so confused.

Have to kind of connect the dots between the books and dunk and egg. There was a big theory that Mel could be the daughter of Shiera and Bloodraven, now it looks more probable that she is in fact just Shiera.
