I'd like to see Jon Snow murdered by the Nights Watch but instead of coming back to fight for the humans, he comes back as a white walker with red eyes and white hair.

He then proceeds massacre the entire Night's Watch and all the wildlings he was trying to save, then convert them to his undead army. After that he marches across the seven kingdoms. He's also immune to dragon glass, fire, and Valyrian steel because of his unique mix of Targaryen/Stark blood.

The seed is strong.

I'm not sure why anyone is shocked that Stannis would sink so low. He already murdered his own brother with Melisandre's smoke vag monster.

Fratricide is a pretty common trope in fantasy. Murdering your own spawn though is just horrible, especially considering how it was done. Even Renly was taken out more gracefully than that.

yeah, it's just kinda goofy now. it's been pretty heavily theorized that Shireen would burn, but not by Stannis' hand. they're just going for shock value at this point.

now we dont get "i would shatter it" from jorah or any of the post-daznak mereen scenes. bummer.

He made eye contact with a Harpy right before he "died", I wouldn't be shocked if it were a ruse. Just if it where it seems smarter to lead Dany into a trap first.

So, DnD basically forced everyone into their dislike of Stannis. Very ham handed of the count.

The point is Stannis burns his own daughter alive in the name of a superstition he hardly believes in, if at all, all in the name of glory.

Superstition? Black cat being bad luck is a superstition. When a fire bitch kills your brother with a vagina demon goes a little beyond superstition.

Mel gets results...

Yeah GRRM made this decision not D&D

quote:

Apparently, from the leaked "Inside the Episode"

"When George first told us about this, it was one of those times that I remember looking at Dan, and going, god, that's so horrible, and it's so good, because it all comes together in a story sense. From the very first time we meet Stannis and Melisandre, they are sacrificing and talking about king's blood, and the power it contains, and it all leads to this, to the sacrificing of Shireen."

As in, the show just spoiled the books, and GRRM wrote that.

So Stannis said frick the Battle of Winterfell (since all 3 females are at Castle Black), I'm marching back to burn my daughter for no reason.

He sends a raven to Mel saying "burn the kid, I'm freezing my balls off out here"

Here's the LINK And SPOILERS for the books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you watch "Inside the Episode" David and Dan say that this WILL happen in the books, and that the two of them were sickened when GRRM told them this happened in the books. Stannis is completely hellbound in both mediums and will go down as the most despicable character in the franchise.

Could be a different reason he sacrifices her, like say, to defeat the Others or Jon Targaryen, but it bites him in the arse.

He hated Tyrion, but I think Tywin thought of the act of murdering his own son as monstrous and didn't even consider even the most gentle ways of murdering him.

Don't kid yourself. Tywin cared more about the Lannister name and reputation than any of his children. If the Lannister house depended on it he would have allowed Tyrion to be torched.

Yep. If he wants to get a "kill the kid" message to Mel, he can get it done without marching his whole army back.

It makes sense, thematically. He wants you to hate both pretenders to the seat of power in the North. Stannis cannot be good.

Guess this all explained why they started to make her a more important character on the show. Needed that emotional attachment.

Could be, or maybe Mel takes it upon herself to burn the girl since Stannis isn't there and Selyse is. Will be interesting to see what happens.

The thing that bugged me the most about the shireen burning was how they handled Davos who saved Gendry but not Shireen. In the books, Davos is off looking for Rickon so he probably has no clue of the shireen roast in the making.

26 pages of debate about what's worse killing or child or sansa's rape and nobody seems to recall the King's guard in the bravoos whorehouse making them find a underage maid to rape all night..........

Stannis is hellbound. I've thought he was for a while, but this episode confirmed it. Stannis will have the single worst fate of all the characters. Mel just doing this on her own accord wouldn't make it as meaningful. I think this will go down as the definitive moral event horizon.
