Another question.
- Am I supposed to know who that Pai Mei doppleganger was sitting under the tree roots?
Observations:
- Arya, Tyrion, Sansa, and Jon have all undergone changes. All have hardened, maybe irrevocably.
- On second viewing, Tyrion planned to kill his father (or at least confront him) but the shock of seeing Shae in his bed made him kill her in a rage. I missed that the first time because I was looking for and hoping he was going after Cersi and I was distracted.

A little off topic, but was that Geoffrey's crossbow that Tyrion used? If it was already mentioned, my bad. If it wasn't mentioned because it was just too obvious, my bad.
It was just a thought considering the distribution and use of weapons and goods lately: the Valyrian steel swords getting new owners (some being reforged), Geoffrey's crossbow (which was used to kill the big tittied whore in season 2?) used to kill his Grandpa (who was plowing his son's whore), Arya taking the silver coins from the Hound, which he got from the farmer he killed, Tyrion strangling the whore with the necklace he gave her. A few of these were already mentioned, just decided to group them together.
Little things like that make me love this show even more

Yea if all of this is true. I would be absolutely shocked if Jon was not Rhaegar and Lyanna's son. I feel like I got spoiled a bit because of these comments coming out.... But it all adds up. Ned was too honorable to cheat on his wife. We don't know the true cause of her death. It could have been child birth. Jon could still look like Ned, Not hard to resemble your Uncle. He promised his sister on her death bed.(If the spolier shite you guys posted is true) Ned lied and said the child was his because Robert would of had Jon killed with the rest of the Dragons.
Jon definitely is not Ned's son and has to be Lyanna's son with royal blood; either Robert or Rhaeger his father. The look the devil woman (Stannis' woman) gave him showed she knows something and that something is big. So it's got to be royal blood.
He could have hidden the fact that Robert was the father for fear of the Lannister's taking him out but I think this was before Robert's wedding. Most probably Rhaeger's son and Ned was protecting his nephew from the wrath of Robert.

Just caught up with all the spoiler talk. What I find I amazing is that, three separate GoT threads later, some people still do not understand that that this thread is only for discussion on what has happened on the show.

What I posted and what I think comes only from what I've seen on the show... And deduction.
The witch-woman's intent stare at Jon Snow from across the Castle Yard means something. Her loyalties are to Stannis. Why would a bastard son of Ned Stark be a threat to Stannis or even a concern of with her?
Ned Stark isn't the kind of guy who goes around screwing women. He's not Robert. But he takes the boy in and suffered the wrath of his wife. Why? Also, Ned would give Jon his name. He didn't. Why?
It all happened around the time of his sister's death and the Robert Rhaeger fight.
Thus we can deduce that Jon has power Witchy is concerned about which threatens Stannis and that is he is of Royal (Robert or Rhaeger) blood.
And actually I cheated a bit. The NYT has a LINK recap that brought up the question of his pedigree based on the stink eye and Ygritte's last words.

I hadn't thought of that, good catch.
Isn't Tyrion the one who gave it to him?

No, he wouldn't. Jon is known as a bastard and in this world, it's incredibly rare that Ned even claimed let alone took care of Jon at Winterfell.

Maybe. I only remember Joffrey saying it was custom made for him.

Ygritte's last words.
So you are saying Ygritte was psychic?
I agree that the red titty witch staring Jon down means she senses something about him. Didn't she say she sensed Gendry's royal blood as well?

I want to beleive that Ygritts catch phrase means a lot more than just her sweet ginger arse being witty.

Question from someone who hasn't been paying much attention... how did Stannis get so many soldiers, and what was he doing on the north side of the wall?

I believe I said the NYT recap said it.

She definitely got all into his blood with the leaches and shite.

Like I said, I agree with that.
But:

I have no idea where the quote came from
..if it's from the books, it doesn't really belong in here, no?
I think what Mystery was saying, and I agree, is that we don't really have much on the show that shows us anything about Jon Snow's heritage outside of him being Ned's bastard child, yet all these theories from people who are all but convinced that there is a lot going on with Cersei or Lyanna, or Robert or Rhaegar, etc. It's a little strange. But I also do love theories as well, as long as they aren't based on future spoiler shite.

My post wasn't directed at you, but at all the hodors who just happen to know so much about the theories behind Jon's origins, which had never been dicussed on the show to the point that viewers can guess lyanna stark and a targaryen were the parents.

He got a huge loan from the Iron Bank a few episodes back. This he used to buy them I'd assume.
Now.. how the frick he got them north of the wall is another story.

how did Stannis get so many soldiers
Earlier this season Stannis and Davos went to Braavos and borrowed money from the Iron Bank to buy soldiers.

what was he doing on the north side of the wall?
At the end of season 3 Melisandre saw visions of battle at the Wall and convinced Stannis that's where he needed to go.
