It's not my thread, man. If you don't read the books or know the spoilers of what happens and shite, then NBD for me. It's just that, like JimMorrison said, this thread is definitely starting to lean toward shite being posted that straight up isn't on the show.

Not to be a dick, but for the millionth time, no one even knows the answer to the question. That's why there are "theories". I fail to see how you can be spoiled on something that has never been revealed.
That's worse than when people were called spoilers for guessing that both Oberyn and the Mountain may die.

You don't know what I am refering to obviously.
Somebody quoted the back of one of the book covers. A quote that was never said in the show. And it sheds light on a promise Ned was keeping.

I know what you're talking about, but that quote still doesn't answer all of the questions. Regardless of the quote, no one knows the answer to the question: "who are Jon's parents?"

It still is something that is a spolier. A normal show watcher would have no idea of that quote. What don't you understand about this? Regardless if it states who is Jon or not. I now know there was something Ned promised her that he kept secret.
Edit to add: I love the theories... have no problem with that.

A spoiler would be something that is revealed that spoils future events for you, no? It seems like that scene was simply skipped from the series, (if it occurred in book 1 I doubt it'll be shown) and will not appear later. It sorta foreshadows a theory, but no one has any idea if there is anything to it.

IMO it's less about "OMG SPOILERS!!1!!" and more about book information being in here. I am googling my arse off trying to find some sort of connection/reference to Ned/Lyanna and a promise, and every single link that I am finding is linked to book shite (and I'm not clicking to find out what). I can't find a single thing linked to the show (except for one youtube video with Lord of the Rings clips spliced in and spoilerish discussion in the comments).
FWIW, I'm not saying that it hasn't ever been on the show...I'm just asking when/where it was? Normally you can google almost anything and find the clip associated with it (I post them often), but not only am I not finding this one, but every single thing is linked to just book things. If I'm wrong on that, someone feel free to point that out or post the clip.

I have no idea where the quote came from. I just think that it isn't "OMG Spoiler" material regardless of where it came from. Something can be "book material" without being "spoiler material". Though, I do understand that this thread should be for non-book readers, maybe the person who inserted that quote here got it from a source in which he/she thought was "super coma-toast Khal Drago" safe.

I don't know where the quote in question came from, but there is tons of robert's rebellion stuff that is in the S1 DVD special features. It could be in there somewhere, and while it would then be outside of the "Game of Thones TV Universe" it would still come from show knowledge on some level in the sense that the show creators chose to share that information with their audience.

What does the Wikipedia page of the TV show for season 1 (not the books) fall under? Hodor approved? There's a thing under the production part of that that I want to talk about but Idk if that's fair game or not...it's not spoilers.

shite, I don't know. I imagine it's fine, but just use your judgment (?). I've found that Wiki does a good job of having the episode recap and sticking to what was shown.

I'm not gonna post it to be safe. It's about how they convinced GRRM to do the show

I just read the past couple pages and a few people need to really think about changing threads. Some of this "well I'm just putting out theories of stuff I heard on the show" stuff is starting to sound like real BS. I'm smelling some readers or people who've been talking to readers.

My wife is a reader and she does really good about not spoiling things. I do ask her on occasion if a certain character is or is not dead for good. FWIW Oberyn does not return - sorry if spoiler.

Are we still on the pulley thing? Cause I would like to propose an alternate passage. Why not train giant moles to dig under ground tunnels. I mean they got dire wolves, dragons and giants riding fricking mammoths you mean to tell me they can't Pavlovian respond a fricking mole to dig a hole to get 100,000 Mexicans over?
Plot hole bro.

Don't tease me, baws, but I have an uber-Hodor question.
Why did they only show two dragons being chained by dragon blondie? Aren't there three dragons?

I wondered who the hell she was talking about when she asked about Drogon. I thought that it must have been the dude with the big wang that she's got the hots for.
