season 2 episode 9 of Game of Thrones comes to mind

I agree with you. I just got trashed for stating I thought it was the best episode I've seen. At least I'm not alone anymore. FWIW, I'm also shite faced.

That episode was better than the battle for kings landing

cutting the giant fight out was a huge letdown.
still a great episode but the blackwater episode seemed more epic to me

hell if i know, but they cut it off when the giant hit the gate. i wanted to see 6 guys getting smashed against walls and bringing that big sumbitch down in close quarters.

Must be to have been "cut out." That's a paddlin'.
Posted on 6/9/14 at 1:15 am to jiffyjohnson
Yeah, I can agree with that.

dont get me wrong it was still a good episode. i was expecting something grander in scale with the way they kept repeating "100,000" all season long. think LOTR:the twin towers battle for helms deep.
or look at this.

It definitely didn't feel as epic as that poster. I have not seen that poster, so maybe that didn't give me huge expectations. Looking at it now, I'm disappointed.

They do shite like this constantly in GoT for budget reasons.
That episode was awesome. I'm not understanding the hate for it.

frickkk that poster looks amazing
So why would Mance waste any time "testing the Wall's defenses" when he's got 100,000 men? I'd just storm the fricking place

Because there is a giant fricking wall in the way
They are kind of fricked if they can't get through the tunnel because the guys they sent over the wall last season all got killed inside Castle Black.

The anchor was cool. And once again, we were reminded:

Was that Moles town or whatever it's called burning in the beginning?
Nope

Such a bad arse episode..the little kid killing snow's girl was epic. Sam turned into a guy with some serious heart..snow going out on his own seems like a bad idea..

Calling that the best episode of GoT is very strange. It wasnt even the best this season.
It wasn't even the best episode of the past 2 weeks IMO.
I personally enjoy the other aspects of the show more than the wall stuff but I realize it's a huge part of the overall story. Excluding Ygritte dying and the big slasher anchor thing it was just a lot of grunting and fighting.
