When did Olenna put the poison diamond in his goblet though?
While Joffrey was cutting the pie, she was just several feet away.
Joffrey drank from the cup right before he cut the pie and nothing happened, so it had to be after.

Isn't the mountain still running around Westeros raping and burning things or is he back at Casterly Rock?

Yeah but they recast him for this season so we know he's gonna be on screen at some point, and we know from the previews for this season that there is some big fight scene involving Oberyn with a spear-thingy. I can't imagine who else Oberyn would be fighting, other than maybe Jaime Lannister or Bronn.

Stannis is not the last in Roberts line. Gendry is still alive.
And the red witch killed Joffrey with her leeches. Powerful leeches.
The night is dark and full of terrors.

That's a pretty big plot hole if that's how it went down. Olenna wouldn't need to give the fool a necklace to give to Sansa, just so Olenna could take a stone off of it and put it in Joffrey's goblet. Why not just hang onto the stone herself? That would eliminate the risk of Sansa not wearing the necklace on the wedding day.

Was Joffery one of the names on Arya's list I can't remember.

Why the frick would she need to go thru that much trouble to smuggle some poison in. The old hag could have just snuck it in. It's not like they had metal detectors and poison sniffing dogs at the wedding.

Gendry's a bastard. He's not in Robert's succession just like Jon Snow isn't in Ned Stark's

Exactly.

Yes. Joffrey, Cersei, and the executioner were the first ones on her list when she was in Harrenhall as a prisoner.

Well that picture makes a pretty strong case grandma was behind it.

He definitely went out with a memorable character. Nobody that watches this show will ever forget Joffrey.

This. Gendry wasn't even an acknowledged bastard, hence why he doesn't have a last name.

The mark of a great actor...actually coming off as so much of an a-hole that everyone hates you!

What? It's a scene from the season 4 preview. Oberyn has a spear (I think) and it looks like he's fighting the Mountain:

That theory makes zero sense, Grandma could have just worn the necklace herself. Then she wouldn't have to worry about Sansa wearing it on the wedding day and she wouldn't have to remove a stone from it while it's around her neck.

Probably just to give the viewer/reader things to look back on and go "ahhh, makes sense now".
The necklace scene made very little sense until now IMO. It was really random and pointless otherwise.

Yeah Gendry has no claim. Stannis has the best claim if you go with the robert thought. but just remember Dany has as a good a claim or better than anyone
