That's hilarious.

how were you not in suspense? when they stuck talisa in the gut, my heart started pounding. i got goosebumps when RoC started playing. I had the chills for the whole scene and loved it. Yeah, they could've done the Arya axe thing, but I think they wanted there to not be a complete shitstorm. How can you say it was not well acted? Catelyn was AMAZING, Walder was awesome, Roose was sickeningly good and you could tell it made him so happy to show Cat his chainmail. They killed Catelyn exactly like they did in the book, minus her clawing her face.
agreed, tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife the entire wedding

I think I'm in between on the RW. I admit I was a bit let down but I think it was mostly because 1) I knew what was coming of course; 2) So much was said about how it was this particular part of the books that inspired the show runners to make the series; and 3) They emphasized Rob's and Cat's blunders so much that there was not as much sympathy for them as in the books.
Taken on it's own, it was a passable enough scene. Rob's pregnant wife getting repeatedly stabbed in her stomach was definitely chilling. And Cat cutting the throat of Frey's wife and then getting her's cut was pretty intense with the blood spurting everywhere. Walder Frey was suitably sleezy and I thought the other actors were good enough.
Bottom line is I think it would have taken a really herculean effort to come close to the books. Especially on a series with a finite budget.

What about Roose's "drive by" stabbing?
This was the only thing about the RW that was shite. Roose should have just strolled up from behind said his line and then as Robb turns around he stabs him to where you could see the sword come out the back. It would've been really graphic (though so was the rest of the ending), but would've looked less cheesy. Overall though it was great and Michelle Fairley did a fantastic job.

Michelle Fairley was great...her wail at the end had me creeped out.

I was actually a little more interested in the Bran/Jon near meeting. Loved seeing the Dire Wolves. Loved Bran warging into Hodor. Loved Jon's dilemma when forced with the choice to kill the old guy or give himself away.
I think the rain storm was a little less intense than in the book but of course they had to have it where you could actually see what was going on.

I just got to catch up. How did the non readers take the Red Wedding?

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but on the intro, I'm just now seeing "Inn at the Crossroads" on the map as it passes from Dragonstone to The Twins. Has that been there for awhile and I'm just now noticing or is that new? And I know that's where several things have already taken place, but is that also where Arya gets some long awaited revenge with Needle or was that a different place?

Question, what's the deal with Arya not getting hit with the axe? I haven't gotten that far in the books but I'm assuming she was hit with the side of the axe and not with the sharp part? So why does it really matter if she was or wasn't hit with the axe?

Having read that Robb and Cat were killed, and that Arya, a favorite character to many, gets an ax to the head created a lot of suspense in a already traumatizing section of the book. It didn't bother me that it was left out. I think most TV viewers would have completely tapped out if Arya was presumed dead after what they saw.

You're just like my mother. She always asks what happens in X movie or Y show, but never has any intention on actually watching them.

Robb stark went back on his word and thus...got what he deserved.

If I hadn't flipped to the next Arya chapter, and read a few pages to confirm, I'd have quit reading so....

Just finished watching the episode. .wow! I knew what was coming, but still great. I will have trouble getting to sleep now. Do you think they will show the wolf head body next episode? What is the general sentiment from Hodors?
