Yeah, it's going to be the red wedding, the showrunners pretty much came out and said it.
I figured they would follow the season 1 (and perhaps 2, since I can't for the life of me remember what happens after Blackwater in CoK. Damn book blur!) and have episode 9 be the big "holy shite..." event of the season, and 10 settle down and give some hope. That would leave it ending with the scene everyone has been hoping for since Lady was killed: the little fricker's demise.

I just finished rereading the COK chapter where he thinks he's seducing some sea woman but it is his sister. I really forgot how truly douchy and overconfident Theon was. Obviously he was a confident dude, but the way he talks in this chapteris so over the top. I guess the sub human tortured dog that he becomes is much more memorable than the ego maniac he was.

Another great example of character development by GRRM.

I kind of feeling like a book snob watching this season. I need to get out of the habit of watching these and getting hung up on every little change they throw out. Still some great moments and the shite will be hitting the fan soon. I was hoping it would make waiting for Winds a little easier, but it's actually making it worse. No end in sight doesn't help the fact.

I had kinda forgotten a bit as well until seeing/hearing him in this week's episode.

This was a scene I thought they could have done more with. Asha was so lively in the book and I thought it would have been a better introduction to her character to include more of their back and forth from the book.

Yea but now he's escaping and all this stuff, Stannis should cut his head off

Has anyone read the sample chapter from Winds of Winter with Theon as the perspective yet? I guess I'll wait to see if any have. Obviously it doesn't reveal any major Theon events, but I think you could guess on how things will turn out for him.

I have read it. Sure seems like Stannis is gonna put him out of his misery, but the raven reference at the end makes me think he still has more to do.

Bran and Bloodraven have some plans for Theon. I'm not sure what it is, but the way he spoke to him through the Winterfell weirwood and the crows yelling Theon, I think their stories will go together.

I don't think theons story is quite over in that chapter

I hope it involves his redemption. If so, he will go down as one of the best characters I can think of in modern literature. His journey has been amazing to read, and for him to now play a big part in the ultimate resolution of this whole thing (for the better of the realm) would be amazing.

Theon is needed for something else other than an execution. I still want to see him killed, but I also want redemption for his character.

Speaking of the ultimate resolution, how do yall expect this whole thing to end? And what will it mean? Has this been discussed on any of the fan sites (link?)
Will the Others be defeated? By gods or men or both? Will it be permanent or implied as temporary? Will there end up being one true god and religion?
As for the non-supernatural parts of the plot, will the ultimate ruler end up being Aegon, Dany, Jon, Sansa, Rickon or someone we have not thought of? Or a combination thereof? Maybe no one - and some sort of democratic system put in place? Will it be a happily ever after? Or more ambiguous?
What exactly will GRRMs overarching message or motivation end up being?

Dany is Assa Asshai reborn and is the "Fire", the resurrected Jon Snow will be the Ice, and together they will team up and use the dragons to protect Westeros from the Others. After defeating the others, the other kingdoms of Westeros; just wanting order will see the legitimacy of the New Targaryen bloodline, as it will be established that Eddard was never Jon's father. He was Rhygaer's son with Ed's sister. Ed could never kill a child, and is why he and any who do are looked down upon with such scorn. It is important and will come back.
Jon and Daenarys Taergaryen will be the new King and Queen, and everyone will live out happily ever after, or until Littlefinger finally gets a rebellion going.

I think jon is AA. And as much as it pains me to say it. Dany is nissa

Why are the followers of Rholler trying to get to Dany?
I guess they tried to get to Stannis to, but I think that was only to prepare the north for AA's return.
Jon's "resurrection" by his mother could be the return of AA.As it was the power of AA that brought her back to life in the first place.
