Just finished the episode.
I can't believe the producers left out something of huge importance in the "price" Dany had to pay to save Drogo's life in the ritual.
Also, I wonder if the actress playing Joz the redheaded whore got the producers off or something cuz she's been written into many scenes which aren't in the book. I really don't understand that Maester Prycelle scene from the finale...

I think it showed he wasn't as old and sickly as hes been acting. I'm gonna have to get the second book tomorrow because I can't last that long with that kind of cliffhanger.

They didn't leave the price out?
Posted on 6/20/11 at 1:44 am to CottonWasKing
yeah they did, they haven't revealed what she can no longer do in the future

Also, remember when Robert told Ned "I have a son and you have a daughter who will rule the seven kingdoms one day" ?
I bet that his metal working bastard tries to lay claim to the throne and I bet Arya gets hot and runs with him. Just my prediction.
Great series and great writing.

I'd go back and read it, but if I look back, I am lost.

Why did everyone hype up this finale? There was nothing shocking or surprising in it including the very last scene. I have to be honest, I'm really not that excited for the next season, I was expecting better.

quote:because the book did a better job of letting you forget about the eggs until right before she walked into the fire and they hatched. in the book they wrote the eggs off early on as being a thousand year old fossils with only monetary value. honestly before reading the last part it seemed more likely that the eggs were more symbolic and helping her realize how powerful she is and how her as Queen, her son and Khal Drogo would go to the seven kingdoms and wreck shite with forty thousand Dothraki. then all of a sudden the Kahl is dead (or might as well be), the kahlasar has left her and her son is dead.
Why did everyone hype up this finale?
Then she is mourning her husband, burning his body and taking revenge on the witch that killed him. The eggs slowly started taking more significance in the last few pages. she walked into the fire and her clothes burned off, milk started flowing out of her breasts, the eggs cracked and hatched and the dragons started nursing from her.
the build up and reveal in the book was just better in the book as far as the wow surprise factor; it was still a great finale but apparently the "wow factor" did not translate due to having to condense the book into 10 episodes.
