Well she does have powerful breasts too. That's obvious though.

Yeah... I finished the book before E9 and the "oh shite" effect was in full force. In the book you were waiting for her to come from the ash to show that she had godlike powers so the khalasar would remain but not really expecting dragons suckling on her teats...

I edited that post because I thought I was in the "read the book thread"
but that is what went down the final 6/7 chapters of the novel.
your first part is correct. 2nd/3rd is how I said, he's merely "hand" in name, Tywin cites beheading Ned, releasing Barristan the head of the Kings Guard and other moments as mistakes. Final part is just from the book convo, but as I said I thought this was in the book thread and someone said they wanted more from Tyrion

Spoilers/Information from the first book:
Those last two notes happens at the end of the book.
I guess they decided to open with it next season.
Its a scene with Tywin learning about Whispering Wood, the loss and capture of Jaime, and that they situation is dire because now they are trapped with a hostile army sitting right in their supply lines...and one that could march onto Lannister lands which is now completely undefended.
They talk of peace, but lament the fact that the death of Stark makes it completely fricking impossible and Robb will never stop. This leads to Tywin sending Tyrion in his stead to serve as Hand of the King, to try to stop the string of frick ups at the crown.
And Tyrion mentally thinks of his father as a cold hearted bastard who has already given up Jaime for dead, and so unwillingly has started to treat Tyrion as his heir.

I wasn't disappointed at all. Loved every minute of the season. But from the hyping in this thread, I expected something completely out of left field to happen. Without going into specifics, was there some big huge revelation from the first book that has not yet been shown?
I think posters on here claimed no one could ever guess what would happen in this episode. If its that she was immune to fire and that dragon eggs would eventually hatch was the "unguessable" events, come on folks.

When Tyrion asked why he was being sent to King's Landing, Tywin responded "to rule" and then explained it was as Hand to the king in his place, but that he was to put Joffrey in his damn place and bitch slap Cersei if she didn't like it.
So, Tyrion fans, imagine Game of Thrones season 2: King Tyrion! First order of business, everyone gets to pimp slap the blonde out of Joff's head.
*about this episode*
I loved the way the dragons looked. I was really worried, but they looked absolutely great. I was rewatching earlier episodes today, and they focused on the eggs too much (imo). I think if the focus was put more on "holy shite, she can't burn" instead of "hey, look at these eggs as we show you what's really going on", it would have been harder to guess.

It was a lot more shocking in the books I promise. Reading the book I never had any clue that they would do anything, at that point in the book the eggs hadn't been mentioned in awhile and it was a spur of the moment decision to put them in the fire.

While I agree, it seems as though the books made it appear less possible. But I've been waiting for some dragons to show up at some point. In all honesty, listening to the people talk about this episode, I started to think her unborn child was a dragon. haha

Yeah I agree. But that would have been the only "wtf" thing and even that was somewhat predictable. The show is great though regardless.
Is Ned a white walker now or something? I was a bit confused early in the episode with his son talking about his dreams.

yea my guess was she birthed a dragon to rule
my roommate's guess was her standing on fire
both were foreshadowed, and if you combine our ideas, we were both right

Ok, I was confused but figured I was either supposed to be confused or would figure it out in time.

By your powers combined...there are fricking dragons now!

Rickon and Bran both dreamed that they found their father waiting for them in the tomb where all the Starks are buried/remembered. The next day the raven arrives with news that he is dead.
