i'm not going to lie. i figured he was going to die after last ep, but MAINLY b/c everyone was talking about something that would piss people off, and people saying there were 2 major endings to the last episodes (with the 2nd being a huge cliffhanger)
so i figured based on this, ned died this week. good thing i have made myself not guess for next week. other than almost being assured to get it wrong, i want genuine surprise

I've been waiting for that moment just to see all the reactions on here.
Leaving out all the action scenes is starting to bug me. I know it is tough with a budget, but it is still frustrating. I was looking forward to seeing Robb run down the Lannisters in the Whispering Wood with Grey Wind running at his side.

I am the same way, first time in a tv series that I've seen a tragic hero portrayed like that. Where it seemed like nothing ever went right for Ned since he left Winterfell. I just thought Ned would somehow get out of it and start kicking some arse. I can't wait to see what happens now and what direction the story goes. There are so many what ifs like the whitewalkers looming in the shadows now and what if/when the doth raki gets to the 7 kingdoms.

I am going to assume Jamie isnt going to die...but aside from that, anything and anyone is fair game I suppose. I freaking love this story - regardless of the platform.

it's a trade off
as a huge fan of Rome, i support not having the battles in the show

You won't guess next week. Trust me.

how long will it be before they show the second season. It's gonna suck not being able to see new episodes after next week. I will be getting the 2nd book for sure

I'm assuming it'll start in April or so of next year. Who knows though.

good
i'm not trying to say i'm some genius for guessing right. there are few characters who people would get mad at being killed
it had to be a stark, and it had to be ned or one of the daughters. i figured ned b/c he was pretty much fricked (and i couldn't see him recovering, even if he didn't die)
also i thought the admission about joffery's geneology came too easy, so that loose end had to be tied up for the lannister-based conflict/power to continue

Agreed, I don't think there is any way possible for anyone to guess next week.
I had been meaning to read these books forever and then when I heard that hbo was making the series I went out and bought the box set. This is some of the greatest story telling I've ever come across. Just finished the AFFC yesterday. And im already chomping at the bits for my next fix.

I can honestly see you guessing neds death, but anyone who never read the books and says they guessed right about next week is a liar lol

If you can guess the last scene correctly without reading the books or looking online, I will bow down and swear allegiance to you like you are King of the North.

I'm a little into the third book now. Is the fourth book bad like people say?
