Not to spoil it for OP but the storyline of that really bad thing they did fits in zero percent.

I love it. Watched it multiple times. Now, the endings of certain football games are not very believable at times, but the characters and storylines are good.

I remember reading that the decision to make every game a nail-biter was made by the network because they believed it was the only way to keep people interested in sports scenes. As a sports enthusiast, it was really annoying. Great show though. Saracen is the GOAT. Frick the Swede.

re-watched the movie recently, and I still think it is really good.

I think it’s the best football movie ever made

Book is better than the film, but not by much.

Both freaking rule.

Your Hand in Mine brings me back in time every time I hear it. That song is nostalgia personified.

Lyla is a girl you would love to bang. But Tyra is a girl you would to bang often.

Can’t get over how dramatic it is. I’ve been around football my whole life and there’s no way in hell humans exist who take it that serious. Well, I take that back, there are, but they act like the dude from emcc and rush propst and the fans are the type of people that call into finebaum. No one who cares that much about football has the mental capacity for anything as deep as the emotions shown in that show

This x1000. It’s not that it’s football it’s that it’s fricking HIGH SCHOOL football. If that is how HIGH SCHOOL football is really viewed in Texas those people need to re-evaluate their lives. I didn’t finish it but watched about 4 seasons, riggins was cool and the women were nice to look at but I’m with you, way to dramatic.

Started another rewatch on Netflix this week. Yeah it’s over the top but if you played high school football or sports in general it takes you back and the instrumental soundtrack hits you right in the feels during the big moments. An all time favorite show for me.

That's what I was coming to write. I had never heard anything like it before. I was completely mesmerized and even replayed the credits where a lot of the tracks were played undistrubed by movie dialogue/sound effects.

They may have invented the instrumental alternative rock genre, which is perfect for soundtracks.

Midland / Odessa in the 1980s was probably not far off this...high school football during that period was lit there.

Explosions doesn’t tour much even pre-Covid, but I was fortunate to see them twice live.

They come and say hello we are explosions in the sky and play their arses off and leave .

They played “your hand in mine “ one of the 2 shows and i imagined it’s maybe what’s playing as you’re heading up to the pearly gates and you see your loved ones who’ve passed and the memories of your life

They hit that opening riff of “ your hand “ and the crowd lost it and I got full body chills.
If you or anyone who sees this, has a chance, go see them live .

One of my regrets while at LSU is not seeing them when they played at the Varsity. I should’ve just gone alone.
