He wasn't a well known rapist to Landry at the time. He just knew a guy tried to rape Tyra previously. The bad writing comes when a smart cop's kid like Landry, who would've known they wouldn't have gotten arrested for that, listens to dumbass Tyra and ditches the body.

I honestly dont remember. I have rewatched every season except season 2. I dont really remember the specifics of that plotline, just that he killed a dude that was bothering Tyra or something.

I guess the writers had to think of something to make the show more dynamic instead of the repetitive following the Dillon Panthers to state every year. It gave the show a new enemy. Personally, I wanted to see more VooDoo!

Yeah I’m not arguing it was a terrible story line. Season 2 was garbage because of the writers strike but that guy deserved to die no matter how stupid the story line was
