Friday Night Lights (show) - Spoilers Midway through S4 on page 2

I know I'm waaaaay late to the party here but I've never seen the show and just started watching it last week and am digging it. It DEFINITELY feels like an early 2000s show which I love. I'm currently 3 episodes into season 2 so would ask that there aren't any spoilers post-season 1 if at all.
I loved season 1 and feel like I can recall all those different character types from people at my HS. I'm sure everyone probably can. SEason 2 is definitely a bit different for sure. A buddy of mine said that was the writers strike season that affected all the shows at that time so even though it's a bit off the rails it does kind of get itself together later on.
I guess my ultimate question here is how would you rank the seasons? In my very young journey so far I would clearly have 2 a few notches below 1. I'm curious to know if the general consensus is that the later seasons are up there on par with S1.

There is a big storyline in season two that was wrapped up very quickly in a way that made little sense. (You will know it when you see it!). Major change in cast and tone in seasons 4-5 BUT it is still really damn good.

I believe that Season 2 is when they had a writers strike so it goes off the rails a little bit, but it gets back on point later. This is one of my all time favorite series.

interesting, what about 3? Does it compare to season 1? And how would you rank the seasons in a list

Buddy just watch the show and don't stress over ranking the seasons ahead of time. It's great.

I'm not stressing, and I fully intend to watch the whole thing regardless of what answers people give. I was just curious to see how people would rate the later seasons compared to ones I'm already familiar with.

Season 1: masterpiece. Possibly the best teen drama of all time.
Season 2: weird, writer’s strike season. Lots of plotlines that go nowhere or are resolved in strange ways. Still entertaining but not as good.
Season 3: strong return to form. Back to being a great show.
Season 4-5: big shakeup of cast, but continues to be a consistently great show with solid character development and an ending that’s bittersweet, but in no way ruins the show.

Depends on the season. She’s evil in even numbered seasons, and a solid girlfriend in odd seasons.

You’re asking questions that’s gonna spoil it for you.

I agree with KingBob but am probably more positive about Season 5 and how they wrapped up the show.
All but Season 2 are very good.

You could skip season 2 honestly and it wouldn't affect anything.

No way. 4 she's a sweetheart and her biggest whore moment was season 5.

The original cast makes the first few seasons my favorite. With that being said doing a big shakeup with new kids took guts and they pulled it off nicely. Besides it going off the rails in season two few shows can stay consistent, doing it with new cast members is even more impressive.

Season 2 goes on a wild detour but then Bobby Ewing emerges from the shower. It was just a dream.

I can't remember which events happened when, are y'all referring to the Tyra/Landry incident? If not give me a hint
