You're the one that brought up awards.

No, I brought up Emmy's, not "best black show on TV at the time" awards.

By the way, FpoBA was also nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

I asked how many Emmys it was nominated for/won.

Anyone can answer the question, if they want.

It also may have the most episodes since they do about 50 a year. Twice what everyone else does.

1/0.

I'm confused as to why you asked that though, especially since you already seem to know the answer.

Yeah. FP wasn't really meant to be an Emmy award winning show, it was meant to entertain kids who grew up in the 90s.

I'm with you on Seinfeld tho, it just never really clicked with me. I would never say it wasn't a great sitcom tho, it just wasn't for me. I saw Jerry Seinfeld live at the Fox in ATL a couple months ago and he just wasn't that funny, his humor isn't my style.

This is the same with Buffy. Fantastic show even though it was rarely nominated and only won 2 emmys in its seven season run. Would you say Buffy was not a great show?

I asked, because I didn't know the answer. Figured it was 0.

Betcha I could rattle off 10 shows that we would both agree should be considered great comedies that aired in the 90's, and not include FPoBA.

I was a Buffy fan. Not sure if I'd consider it great, but it's been a good while since I watched Buffy at all.

Regardless, that's also two more Emmys than FPoBA won.

back up your claim. name 10 shows that aired in the 90s that most would agree are better commedies than FP.

I'm gonna give it a shot.

Seinfeld
Friends (horrible show, IMO)
Cheers
The Simpsons
Roseanne
Married With Children
South Park
Frasier
King of the Hill
Home Improvement
King of Queens
Everybody Loves Raymond
Freaks and Geeks
Will and Grace
Ally McBeal
Scrubs

There's 16. Easier than I thought it would be.....

You won't get a consensus opinion on those that puts them in the top 10 in the 90's.

Scrubs

Started airing in 2001.

Even if you could, it still doesn't mean FP shouldn't be on the list.

Also, a lot of the ones you listed were barely in the 90s. For example, Cheers would be considered by most to be an 80s show. South Park, King of Queens, King of the Hill, and Will and Grace were long-running shows that started in 97 or after. While they did exist in the 90s, they weren't necessarily huge things at the time.

Also, you said shows we'd both agree on, and of your list I disagree with you on Seinfeld, King of the Hill, Frasier, Simpsons, King of Queens, Raymond, Will and Grace, Ally McBeal, and Freaks and Geeks (which doesn't belong in the conversation IMO). And Scrubs wasn't in the 90s.

You won't get a consensus opinion on anything when it comes to taste in TV.

Right, like it's a pretty consensus opinion that Fresh Prince of Bel Air is one of the great sitcoms of the 90s. :coco2:

Okay, so it's not a top 10 comedy of the decade.

Didn't win any Emmys. Was nominated for 1.

But it's great.

You must have about 50 orgasms during a 30 minute viewing of Arrested Development.

They aired in the 90's. That was the criteria.

In order for this to work, you're going to have to be honest.

I didn't say shows that we liked, but rather that should be considered great comedies of the 90's.

If you think that FPoBA is should be considered before The Simpsons (amongst others that you listed), then we either had a misunderstanding, you're full of bullshite, or you are just plain wrong.
