I’ve been behind most of the season and I was finally able to catch up last night. My only real complaint of the season was The Mule, while being a very good villain, wasn’t operating on a scale that I felt warranted the galaxy-wide fear yet. I guess that complaint was resolved last night . I’m gonna miss that Danish bastard.

Even without The Mule reveal, it was one of the most unpredictable finales I’ve watched in recent memory. Dusk destroying the dynasty and Demerzel in one fell swoop was not on my Bingo card. I’m not ready to lose Pace so hopefully the time jump to next season allows Dawn to grow up, assuming he is still alive.

I was Team Demerzel so now I’ve switched my allegiance to the Moon robots. I hope they can recover her from her unmelted head.

I hate robots. I was cheering when Darkness burned her arse up.

Can anyone explain the Mule's switcharoo? Gaal had visions of Euron Greyjoy from over a hundred years ago. That's been repeating over and over in her head. How was Beyta able to pull THAT off? And when? Was he just some sock puppet? Everyone saw him as the Mule, even before she and Toran were in the picture.

I was expecting the Mule to transport his psyche into the body of the little girl. That would had made far more sense. She's young. He's been keeping her close by him from the start, He tells her to hide as soon as stuff gets serious, and when Gaal says she can still feel someone in her head, I was 100% sure it was the little girl.

And damn, Day survives the Mushroom Sarlacc pit, brings Demerzel the robot head, only to have her NOT finish the job and go get toasted, and ends up getting wasted on the throne room floor. Tough breaks!

Just finished it up last night. The guy the played the original Mule was such a good villain. Looks like Earth is going to play a big part in season 4.

It seemed like Earth and that would make sense, but I was trying to figure out identifiable land masses, and I couldn’t make out what was what. Probably needs another look, though, only saw it once.

I did not like how they handled the mule. I liked Bayta being the mule but they absolutely did not handle her motives or anything and tbh wtf happened at the end? Either I missed a few seconds or did everyone die? I really hope gaal chapter is done.

It was 100% Earth. The shot was showing North and South America. Sea level was apparently lower so the land extended further out, but you could clearly make out Florida and the Baja California Peninsula.

She didn’t pull that off. Neither of the “Mules” had any way to influence Gaal’s visions before they were born. Gaal’s visions just didn’t tell her the whole story.

Yes, Bayta clearly made him the “face” of the operation. Possibly because she had also had visions of the conflict with Gaal and wanted to draw her out, though that’s not clear.

It’s also not clear whether Euron was able to turn people without Bayta being there. Bayta was there when he took Calgon, and she was there when he took New Terminus. But as I recall, she was not there when he took the jump gate. So this might be a bit of a plot hole, unless he just also had extremely powerful abilities.

He visions flat out lied to her then. So how does that work, exactly?

We've got some explanation incoming, I hope, or that's a really big plot hole.

In LotR, for example, Sauron allowed Denethor to use the Palantir to see what he wanted him to see. Was it real? Yes, but it was an amplification, like tunnel vision, to maximize fear and dread in Denethor.

So how do such visions work in this universe?? Who drives them? From where do they originate? Or is it just stuff the story needs to make things interesting?

I guess so. The view is sideways so it looks a bit odd from how we see it presented most often.

Her visions are not 100% reliable. Recall that she also saw the Mule kill Salvor in her visions in season 2. Salvor wound up dying, but it was someone else that killed her (long before the Mule was born).

Similarly in season 3 her visions turn out to only be partially correct. She does fight Euron (for lack of a better name at this point) but it turns out that he’s not actually the Mule.

I don’t really think it’s a plot hole. The idea that precognitive visions can be unreliable, or only tell part of the story, is a fairly common sci-fi/fantasy trope.

Listened to the podcast & the book version of the mule makes a lot more sense.

They should have stuck with that.

So I haven't read the books, but after watching the season finale last night, I went looking through the book series on the web. They could still use the book version of the Mule. It's available to them. I don't want to spoil it here, but I think that would be more interesting.

Anyway, Brother Day getting wasted was a shame. The thing that confuses me is that the robot on the moon is the same "person" as Kalle in the prime radiant. But she states that it appears they are trying to pull them into the struggle. Was this the robots plan all along; neuter Empire and then come back and take over?

I was confused after learning Kalle was a robot bc I assumed that earlier and that’s how Sheldon got his body but he aged and died.

I still hope that Mule is still alive and it is the original Mentalics leader that jumped.

Looked back through the book stuff and it’s pretty obvious who the real Mule is. I’m
sure that will come out next season.
